LHP/1B Hunter Shepstone (Oak Creek, 2029): Boasting a strong, sturdy 5-foot-11, 211-pound frame, Shepstone is a highly projectable physical presence in the batter's box. The left-handed hitter works with fluid, loose and quick hands through the zone, consistently backspinning the baseball to all fields. He led the entire 2029 class in max EV (94 mph), average EV (90.9 mph), and bat speed (70.3 mph). Defensively, he moves well around the bag with clean actions and quality overall feel for the first base position. Moving to the mound, the southpaw operates from a powerful drop-and-drive delivery that he was able to repeat consistently. His fastball sat 81-83 mph (1,788 rpm) with 17.3 inches of average induced vertical break, while his slider played at 69-71 mph (1,855 rpm) with 5.6 inches of horizontal movement. Quality feel for a 73-74 mph (1,357 rpm) changeup rounded out his three-pitch mix.

Shepstone would show an interesting profile on the mound during his midday Saturday start. Coming from a short 3/4 arm-action, the left-handed pitcher showed a fastball that sat 76-79 with life while repeating his delivery well throughout his outing. Shepstone is a must-know name in Wisconsin’s emerging 2029 class. Sturdy 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame.

LHP/1B Hunter Shepstone is a projectable two-way prospect who impressed on the mound and with the bat. Shepstone used an efficient swing and leveraged balls out front to register a solid 83.0 mph max exit velocity. On the mound, his fastball was up to 75 mph and he flashed a tight breaking ball to give him a solid two-pitch mix.
