2021 Watch: Right-Handed Arms in Alberta

The 2021 Grad Class offers a lot of exciting arms and unique skillsets on the mound to watch out for in 2021 and beyond. Today we look at a couple right-handers who are going to make some noise throughout the province and should be able to carry that into the next level.

With these three long righties all have in common is they are all likely to continue to raise their numbers and pure stuff while still adding size and physicality to their frames.

Simon Lusignan RHP / Okotoks Dawgs Academy, AB / 2021

Report: We start our list with the current number one prospect on our rankings,  6-foot-5 210-Pound RHP from the Okotoks Dawgs, Simon Lusignan.  Lusignan boasts a short, live arm with a clean lower half and his fastball lives in the low 90s.  His arsenal has evolved into a good 3 pitch mix where he compliments this fastball with a sharp slider he commands well and throws in the low 80s and a splitter with very good swing and miss potential.  Lusignan is committed to Stetson and a name to listen for going into the MLB Draft in June.

Jack Mount RHP / OF / Vauxhall , AB / 2021

Report: Mount is a very good athlete and this translate well for him into his abilities on the mound.  Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 160 pounds, Mount has a lean athletic frame with some project-ability.  Mount has a very quick and efficient lower half with a fast arm in a lower ¾ slot.  Mount maintains good intent and timing throughout his delivery and has seen his fastball at 89 mph.  With two off-speed offerings in his Curveball and Changeup that he continues to develop,  Mount could be a player with an immediate impact when he gets to Cloud County CC next year.

Ashton Finkbeiner RHP / OF / Buck Mountain Central, AB / 2021

Report: Standing at 6-foot-6 weighing 186 pounds, Finkbeiner has a frame that embodies project-ability.  Finkbeiner shows good pitch-ability in his entire arsenal and commands the Zone well.  Finkbeiner has good arm speed and a delivery that looks effortless and controlled.  These physical gifts as well the high project-ability and skillset on the mound show that when Finkbeiner gets to Lamar CC next Fall, he brings with him a very high ceiling.
