Team Outlook

The Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Lions enjoyed an excellent 2021 campaign, as they reached the Class 1A State Playoffs and were ranked inside the Top-10 for pretty much all of the spring. This year, the Lions have high expectations with most of that team coming back. Let's take a look at the 2022 version of the Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Lions.

The Lions return almost all of their lineup and pitching staff from last year's team, so they should be a well-balanced quad this spring. C Sam Hogue (Wallace-Hanceville CC) returns as the leading hitter from last year's team, where he hit .402 with seven home runs and 41 RBI's as a junior. Hogue has added some muscle over the offseason, so he could see an increase in his power numbers as a senior. LHP Ray Anderson returns as the ace for this staff after posting impressive strikeout numbers last year as a sophomore. A junior now, Anderson went 7-3 with a 1.96 ERA, while striking out 110 hitters in 64 innings on the mound last spring. He's a talented southpaw with premium pitchability & good command of all pitches. Another returning hitter for the Lions will be OF Max Morrison, who comes back as a speedy center fielder. As a sophomore, Morrison hit .385 with a .987 OPS, 19 RBI's and 19 stolen bases. He'll be looked upon for another stellar season at the plate. UTL/RHP Micah Perkins is another senior for the Lions coming back who will play a big role this spring. Perkins can play anywhere on the field and will also be one of the top arms on the mound. In 2021, Perkins hit .337 with 27 stolen bases.

Outside of some of these returners mentioned above, there are plenty of other upperclassmen who have gained valuable experience over the past couple of years. 3B/RHP AJ Davis is a strong athlete that will make an impact for the Lions on the mound and at the plate. He's back at full strength after being limited some last year due to injury, so he'll be another quality arm and hitter for Lindsay Lane. MIF Seth Mitchell & MIF Ben Frasier are a pair of sure-handed junior middle infielders who are looking to have  breakout seasons at the plate. Both are a talented players with solid fundamentals. A few others to keep an eye on this spring will be OF Mason Burns, OF Jackson Carter & DH/1B Alex Cook. It should be another excellent season for the Lions in Class 1A.
