6-foot-1, 156-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, Hogue had a max exit velocity of 95 mph. Begins in an open stance with a controlled load, then uses a toe tap. Had upward swing plane, some bat speed and good extension on his finish. He found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. While catching, his best recorded throw to second was clocked at 73 mph; had a natural exchange, sure hands, and athletic footwork. Had consistent pop times of 2.15-2.33. Showed some flexibility. Showed a high ¾ slot and a consistent arm action with decent accuracy to the bag. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.5.

6-foot-1, 150-pound lean frame. Recorded a time of 7.44 in the 60-yard dash. Starts in an open tall stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was efficient, had rotational swing plane and high finish. Created some loud contact during his round. Pull side approach. the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 89 mph, showing his strength and power ability. His best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 71 mph; has a clean exchange and consistent footwork. Has narrow setup. Behind the plate, had consistent pop times of 2.13-2.31. Some accuracy to the bag, used an-over-the-top slot with a loose arm action.

Hogue displayed some pull side juice during his round of BP. Did not see him go opposite field that much. This translated to the game as he flew out to LF in one of his AB’s. Like his swing as he creates some tilt which allows him to drive the ball to the LCF gap. Defensively, his best pop time was 2.18. These will continue to get trimmed down as he gets stronger and quicker.
