Scouting Report

Playing 1B, Seibert has had a very solid year offensively which is shown by his .364 average in 98 plate appearances. Standing 6foot-3, 225 lbs, he has a pure left handed stroke with a really powerful lower half in his swing. His power numbers speak for themselves with 5 2B's, 7 HR's, 30 RBI's and a .633 slugging percentage.

Seibert also doubles as the Toro's closer (RHP) with a fastball that sits in the upper 80's that can reach the low 90's. Quoting his head coach, Brent Boyd, "Von is a very good hitter who continues to improve his at bats and learn how not to get himself out, but instead is now making the pitcher come to him. His patience at the plate shows that he is maturing at the plate and will be a force to be reckoned with his senior year." Before his senior year, the traditionally strong Spanish Fort High School program still has work to do this year. The Toros and Seibert travel to G.W. Carver in Montgomery this weekend as they hope to continue their winning ways in the AHSAA playoffs.
