The first week of PBR Fall League was hosted by Henderson State University. Below you will find reports on position players that stood out.
Hitters
2017 OF/INF Matt Goodheart, Magnolia HS; He showed advanced ability at the plate. He recorded 3 extra base hits, two in the opposite field gap that resulted in triples. He starts from an athletic stance with a line drive swing. He stays balanced through extension. (Uncommitted)
2018 C Dezmond Cordova North Little Rock HS: He showed advanced bat speed, starting from a balanced stance with a slight uphill rotational swing. He was 2 for 5 with 3 runs scored on the day. He is an above average athlete as a catcher
2017 Luke Wewers C/CIF Catholic HS had a solid day at the plat showing an advanced approach and knowledge of the strike zone. He starts from a balanced stance with a slight hand load and stride. He attacks the baseball with an uphill swing and normal bat speed. He was 1 for 2 on the day drawing 4 walks and driving in a run with a sacrifice fly.
2018 CIF Alex Langley Riverview HS Langley is a large framed player with an athletic build. He attacked the baseball with fast bat speed, with a rotational swing. He squared two balls up for loud outs on the day.
Defenders
2019 MIF Evan Stewart, Catholic HS showed advanced actions at short stop, playing through the baseball with fluid footwork and a quick exchange. He throws from a ¾ arm slot with a short arm action accurately across the infield.
2018 OF Bryson George, Russellville HS; a premium runner that displayed solid instincts on balls in the air. He played through the baseball with fluid footwork. He throws from H ¾ arm slot.
2017 MIF Zach Jamison, Nashville HS displayed fluid footwork as he played through the baseball. He used a normal exchange with a short arm action and an average arm with accuracy.
2018 MIF Steven Stewart Greenbrier HS: He played through the baseball with fluid footwork with a fluid exchange. He displayed a short arm action from a 3/4 arm slot. He threw the baseball accurately with carry.
