The Arizona Spring Scout Blog will include notes and reports on select prospects we see throughout our spring high school coverage. If there is a game/player that needs to be covered do not hesitate to reach out and we will do our best to be there. As always, contact [email protected] or direct message @PBRArizona on Twitter with any questions about Prep Baseball Report and/or commitment information.

Pinnacle @ Hamilton 4/2/18

Dustin Bermudez, 2019, RHP/IF, Hamilton HS
Uncommitted. The diminutive righty shows an athletic delivery and the ability to command multiple pitches in the strikes zone. His fastball sat 83-85 mph on the outing, working mostly to the outer half, but he also ran what looked like a real sinker on the hands of a RHH at 81, completely sawing him off. Also showed a sharp 72 mph 11-5 curveball with tight rotation and the ability to throw it in or below the zone. Bermudez is a prospect we definitely need to see more of and appear worthy of being a ranked player in the 2019 AZ class.

Max Kendall, 2019, RHP, Pinnacle HS
Uncommitted. The junior righty has some funk in his delivery, mostly due to stiffness in his hips, but the balls really jumps out of his hand. On this day he showed more control than command, not issuing a walk while working 85-86, T88 mph with his fastball. Based on prior reports Kendall has made a significant veto jump this spring and their could be even more on the way with increased flexibility and a more balanced lower half. Also showed a 71-73 mph breaking ball with significant lateral break that he used to keep hitters off balance and work back to the fastball. Definite high-level follow and a player worthy of entering the updated rankings after the high school season.
