Transfer Alert: 2023 LHP Bradyn Barnes

As we continue our coverage of high school baseball in the state of Arizona, today PBR Arizona reports 2023 LHP Bradyn Barnes has announced his transfer from Highland to Basha. This is a big addition to the Basha roster. With an already talented club, Basha adds a skilled left-handed pitcher to it's starting rotation.
Barnes (Arizona State commit) is a crafty left hander with a clean delivery and a high upside. He features a FB in the low-mid 80's with good command, and a breaking ball with downward movement that has shown to create a lot of swing and miss. Barnes' delivery and build shows big time upside with potential to add velocity to the FB in the years to come.
This addition makes Basha's 2023 class one of the strongest in the state. Barnes is expected to miss some time this spring due to transfer rules, but this could be a guy for Basha that helps them make a late push in a post-season run. Coach Schilling now has two Division 1 arms in his rotation with 2023 RHP San Diego commit Dallin Harrison, and 2023 LHP Arizona State commit Bradyn Barnes. If not this year, then the 2023 season could be a big one for Coach Schilling and the Basha Bears.

Scouting Report
Uses lower half well in his swing to create an exit velo of 75. He elevates the ball well, which is a huge advantage for him especially as he gets older and more bat speed comes. Starts slightly open and gets square as he strides. Good ryhtym with hands and leg kick syncing up. Showed good feel around the bag and good hands to get rid of the ball quickly on his double plays.
On the mound he uses his long limbs well and showed above average feel and velo for his age during his bullpen. His high ¾ slot produced a velo up to 79 MPH from the left side. Spun the ball well, showing a chance for a good breaking ball at 63-64 MPH.
