Uncommitted Spotlight: Sam Christiansen

Paul Panaccione
Arizona Scouting Director

We continue our coverage of uncommitted players, spotlighting them to help maximize their exposure and assist them in the recruiting process. Today, we look at one of the top uncommitted players in class of 2022, Sam Christiansen (Mountainview).

Sam Christiansen 1B / OF / Mountain View, AZ / 2022

(West Coast Games Participant), 6-foot-1 180 pounds, L/L with clean actions and athleticism. Christiansen has a smooth swing from the left side that is starting to show can have some adjustability and use the whole field. There is some power and strength in his bat, as we expect him to drive balls to the gaps for some doubles/home runs in this coming spring season. The swing plane works best to the middle of the field, this is where he gets the most true flight off the bat, some top spin is created to the pull-side at times. Christiansen has shown some athletic ability, running a 6.94 in the 60, and moves around the bag well at first base, projecting as an athletic first-basemen or left fielder. We have seen Christiansen making steady progress to all parts of his game over the last few years, making himself one of the most skilled uncommitted players left in the 2022 class. Off the field, Christiansen is an enjoyable person to be around. He's shown a consistent work ethic and commitment to the game, as well as being a great teammate and a positive impact on a clubhouse.
