With the past weeks attention on the 2019 MLB draft we swiftly swing back to highlight some of the top uncommitted names still out there in the 2019 class. Half way through the BCPBL regular season we highlight three quality arms and three quality bats still uncommitted from a deeply talented class coming out of British Columbia.

UNCOMMITTED 2019 GRADS

Joseph Sinclair LHP / John Oliver, BC / 2019

Report: 6-foot-3, 185-pounds,  LHP from the North Shore Twins.  Tall athletic frame with lots of room to add strength and size.  Ran a 6.85-second 60 at recent PBR Open ID. League-leader with 73K in 50 IP.  Gamer attacks hitters with a two pitch mix, a mid 80s FB with late two seem ride and a low to mid 70s, 12/6 curveball shape with high-spin and late-break swing-and-miss pitch. Has pitched as a starter and late-inning relief for stints with Team BC.

Joshua Walker SS / 3B / Lambrick park , BC / 2019

Report: 6-foot-2, 180-pounds from the Victoria Mariners of the BCPBL with smooth actions up the middle of the field and a good first step. Josh possesses a solid arm and tools to stay on the dirt. At the plate he has quick hands with a line drive approach that goes gap to gap, can get out of the box and down the line well. Josh has been a stand out at numerous events and has held his own as a member of the Canadian Junior National Team.

Jackson Flemons RHP / OF / st.johns, BC / 2019

Report: 6-foot-4 190-pound RHP for the UBC Thunder. Definitely passes the eye test and still has room for added strength to his frame as he continues to mature. Shows a quality 3 pitch mix including a mid to upper 80s fastball with late two seem ride. A late breaking 12/6 shaped CB that has the ability to be a plus pitch as he continues to mature. Flashes a developing change with some downward depth. Plenty of room to grow and teach, holds the physical tools. Continues to show improvements week to week.

Reid Dawson RHP / R.A. McMath , BC / 2019

Report: 6-foot-2 170-pound RHP from the Nortth Delta Blue Jays. Tall Lanky frame with lots of room to add size. Pounds the zone with a quality 3 pitch mix, has been a horse for the Blue Jays the last two years logging major innings. A lot to like in his as he passes the eye test with room to add to his athletic frame. His fastball has worked in the 82-85 range this season and has shown a sharp breaking ball as his strikeout pitch. A must look at for any school looking for an arm.

Josh Hill SS / Nanaimo, BC / 2019

Report: 6-foot, 160-pound dual-player for the Mid Island Pirates. Has shown improved arm strength across the diamond and has quick hands around the bag. At the dish in 2019 league play, Hill has slash line of .395/.511/.498 by using a quiet load and hands inside the ball to keep barrel on path with a middle approach. With added size and strength will lead to more extra base hits and improved Slug %. On the mound, Josh throws three-pitches for strikes, and works bottom of zone, changing speed and using his entire repertoire to keep hitters off balance. Added strength will help boost his stuff but by his 2.75 ERA, it’s evident that his stuff will play.
