2014 Under Armour All-America Game Preview

By Nathan Rode

On Saturday, August 16, the seventh annual Under Armour All-America Game, powered by Baseball Factory, will take place at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The prestigious event brings the nation’s top high school prospects together to play an all-star style game and get a major league experience. This year’s game features 41 players—37 from the 2015 draft class, two 2016s and two prospects from the Dominican Republic.

For the first time in its history, the Under Armour Game will be played under the lights at historic Wrigley Field, with a game time of 7 p.m. EST. It will air nationally on MLB Network at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, August 17.

The rosters—split up into American and National teams—are listed at the bottom and include four of the top five players in Prep Baseball Report’s Overall Rankings. RHP Mike Nikorak (Stroudsburg HS, PA) has seen his velocity climb into the low 90s since last year and offers an extremely projectable frame and clean, easy delivery. RHP Ashe Russell (Cathedral HS, IN) is sure to dazzle evaluators and spectators in a one-inning sting thanks to his electric arsenal. His fastball can reach the mid 90s and is complemented by a sharp slider.
