4A Final 8 Roundup

Friday May 20th and Saturday May 21st, the 8 remaining $A teams took part in a double elimination tournament to crown the next State Champion.  Here is a look at how the 4 remaining teams moved on to next weekend's semi-final and championship round.

Friday May 20th All Star Park 

Mountain View 5 Air Academy 3 (10:00)
Mountain View got the opening win of the tournament and were led by Taven Whitehurst who went 1-4 with 1 run and 2 RBI.  Holden Bernhardt added 5.2 innings on the mound and collected 11 K's.

Valor Christian 10 Windsor 4 (12:30)
Joel Pierce got the day started right for the Eagles by going 2-4 with 2 runs and 4 RBI.

Valor 10 Mountain View 7 (3:00)
The Eagles knock off the defending State Champion and were led by Luke Bozarth who went 2-4 with 4 RBI.

Valor Christian moves on to the State Championship play in game.

Friday May 20th Frederick High School 

Delta 7 Erie 6 (10:00)
Ty McCurdy led the way for Delta by going 2-3 with 1 run and 2 RBI.

Pueblo West 6 Longmont 5 (12:30)
The Cyclones were led by Luke Jameson who went 2-3 with 1 run and 1 RBI.

Pueblo West 7 Delta 1 (3:00)
Josh Drury led the way for the Cyclones in win number 2, he went 2-3 with 3 RBI.

Pueblo West moves on to the State Championship play in game. 

Saturday May 21st All Star Park

Eire 20 Longmont 16 (10:00)
Erie Uses 19 hits to score their 20 runs to get the win and were led by Josh Crites who went 2-2 with 4 runs and 2 RBI and Nick Gavit who was 3-4 with 1 run and 3 RBI.

Erie 6 Mountain View 5 (12:30)
Hunter Nelson had a big day for Eire going 3-4 with 1 run and 1 RBI to move the tigers on to the semi-finals.
Pueblo West 9 Valor 6 (3:00)
Ian Garcia had a monster game and led the Cyclones over Valor by going 4-5 with 3 runs and 4 RBI.

*Pueblo West automatically moves on to 4A State Championship Game and has to be beat twice next weekend. 

Saturday May 21st Frederick High School

Windsor 3 Air Academy 2 (10:00)
The Wizards use 11 hits and solid pitching to win this elimination game.
Windsor 6 Delta 0 (12:30)
The Wizards punch their ticket to the semi-finals with the shutout victory over Delta.
