College commitments continue to roll in across the country and with several in the past week out of Colorado, we’re going to highlight four of the most recent commits in the state.

A pair of our 2021 Future Games positional players each paired up with Division I schools while another pair of seniors had their names taken off their board as well.

We will continue to roll out Commitment Tracker articles as more players sign.

Ashtin Gilio2B / OF / Alexander Dawson, CO / 2023

Georgetown University
2023 Ashtin Gilio was a member of our 2021 Future Games and plays for the Slammers. Gilio is a versatile switch-hitter who got noticeably stronger this year which translated into his game and metrics. As a LHH he has the ability to use the left-centre gap and pull the ball with outstanding balance and great zone discipline. He’s proven he can handle velo and shows the same discipline from the right side with slightly more pop. Defensively, the athleticism plays where he runs a 6.70 and can handle any outfield position along with 2B/3B. An exciting prospect who continued to trend upwards this summer and it's no surprise to see him heading to Georgetown.

Finley BatesSS / 3B / Douglas County, CO / 2023

San Diego State University

2023 Finley Bates is another 2021 Future Gamer on here after his commitment to San Diego State. Bates was a standout in Georgia this summer with his actions and feel for the middle of the diamond. He consistently makes routine plays and his hands play through the ball with active feet. Offensively, the right-handed hitter creates max bat speed and has an aggressive, gap-to-gap approach. Strong production and Bates gets results in every game he plays. It was a big summer for the Yard Dawgs product who’s tools continued to improve.

Aidan BrainardRHP / 2B / Columbine, CO / 2022

Willamette University

2022 right-handed pitcher Aidan Brainard of Columbine HS has continued to develop and grow over the years and we last had him up to 81 mph at the Colorado Preseason All-State Games in April. Brainard does a good job of coiling to generate power and has a high leg kick that lands slightly finished. He’s always shown the ability to throw his entire three-pitch mix for strikes. With his pitchability and strike throwing, the velocity should continue coming at the college level where he could become an impact arm for Willamette.

Caleb CancinoC / OF / Castle View , CO / 2022

Mesa Community College

We last saw 2022 Caleb Cancino at the Colorado Top Prospect Games in August where he had a great showcase day, starting with a 6.51 60-time. He has a strong, lean frame and an open stance with good timing in his swing. There’s minimal movement and a direct path with his hands and he produced an exit velocity of 95. He had pop times that ranged from 1.99 - 2.05 and there’s potential behind the dish. Our scouting staff has continued to see Cancino develop and continue to get stronger every time we see him.
