The 4th Annual Top Prospect Games will be held on August 4th and 5th at Cherry Creek High School. This premier event will feature the best Class of 2020 and 2021 prospects from the state of Colorado and Wyoming with select 2022 prospects. This event has consistently drawn the best players from all 4 corners of the state as they compete and a pro-style workout. Over the next few weeks we will be spotlighting the players attending the event. In this spotlight we look at No. 24 2020 C/SS Blake Rarog  of Legend high school.

5-foot-9, 175 pounds. Will be biggest riser out our the event and showcased how much skills have improved. Impressive arm-strength behind the dish at 76 mph which also led to the best pop-time at 1.85 off a coach. Right-handed hitter, Open stance, big leg kick trigger, solid balance. Short loose path, hands create bat speed, projectable traits at the plate. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Righty on the mound and throws from an over-the-top arm angle, average arm speed. Toe lift to balance point with average effort leads to some rhythm and helps land in line. Straight fastball averages between 78-79 mph. Curve had sweeping 10/4 break, sits in the 67-68 range. Occasionally slows arm action down during changeup, averages 71 mph.

1/28/18--5-foot-9, 175 pounds. SS/C who bats right, throws right. Load and leg kick starts smooth, uphill swing. Strong lower half that generates gap-to-gap power. Produced a 84 mph exit velo off the tee. Smooth at shortstop, coming through the ball with soft hands and good lateral movement. Also has advanced catching skills. Beats the ball and is soft when receiving. Blocks ball well. Quick out of the crouch on throwdowns with an over-the-top arm slot.  Quick glove-to-hand exchange. Pop-times were 1.85-1.98 off a coach. Arm velo was 76 mph. Ran a 4.35 home to first. Solid all-around player.
