Castle Rock, CO – In a last week of the non-league season tune up, Douglas County (4-3) defeated Fort Collins (3-4) 6-4 on Tuesday March 31st.  This game was played well between two teams who are now 7 games into their 19 game regular season.

The Lambkins of Fort Collins struck first with a 2 run double by Grayson Oblender in the top of the 3rd inning.  This was all the noise Fort Collins would make that inning going quietly with the next three hitters.  Douglas County wasted no time getting back in the game with the bat of Jared Montoya who stroked a 2 run home run to deep left center field to tie the game at 2.  Later that inning a 4-3 groundout by Zachary Brenner plated a 3rd run.  Montoya who took the mound in the top of the 4th and worked a quick 1-2-3 inning.  The Huskies added to their lead in the bottom half taking advantage of a leadoff walk.  Montoya gave way to Taylor Williams in the 6th inning after surrendering 2 runs which brought the Lambkins to within 2 runs.  Williams through one pitch and induced a double play to end the inning.  Williams faced only four batters in the 7th to collect the save.
