PBR Mailbag: Colorado's 2016 Draft Talent

By Nathan Rode

It’s officially 2016 and there are 156 days until the draft. The high school season is just around the corner with Florida kicking things off in early February. This week, I will join several of my PBR cohorts in Nashville for the ABCA convention, catching up with high school and college coaches across the country. I’ll be heading to the Mid-Atlantic on Martin Luther King Day for something I’ll tell you about later and then on Feb. 7, we have the 2016 Super 60, which has a chance of topping last year’s event in terms of talent. Hold on just a little longer and baseball will be back. Until then, fire some questions our way using Ask.fm. I’ll answer as much as I can on there and go in more depth with some questions with the PBR Mailbag, which leads us to the latest question…

What does this year look like draft wise for Colorado?
For the first time since 1999, Colorado had three high school players drafted in the top 10 rounds last year. I can’t say for certain we’ll see that again in 2016, but there’s a chance. It’ll just come down to signability and spring performances for a few prospects. But there is a chance with the level of talent in the state.
