Sam McGill, C, 2017

X-FACTOR:
Finding protection for Tyse in the lineup. The Santa Clara commit is the one legitimate offensive starter coming back.

KEY PLAYERS LOST:
Ryan Madden: Oklahoma

STAT RAT:
The Knights will have to replace 14 wins, 95 innings, 123 strikeouts, and hundreds of plus 90 mph fastballs on the mound with Ryan Madden and Johnny Feauto graduating.

BOTTOM LINE:
Under legendary head coach Rick Harig the Knights have had one of the most consistent successful programs in the state. Before the spring Harig decided to retire and now David Castillo is at the helm. Coming off the last two years where the Knights had a combined 37 and 7 record, the Knights will reload with new talent after watching a lot of D1 players graduate. Big 6-foot-6 Mitch Tyse returns. The 2016 Santa Clara commit has power in his bat hitting 4 homeruns in 2015, and drove in 19 RBI's while hitting .405. 2017 2B Stone Streeter is a .300 hitter, solid middle infielder, and can also spell some innings on the mound. The Knights will be looking to depend on 2017 left handed pitchers Tyler Carpenter and Matt Erickson to pitch quality innings in 2016. Both are capable. The Knights have been a factory churning out D1 and MLB draft pick talent over the last couple of years. We are excited to see some new Knights step up and continue their winning tradition. They still will be one of the better 5A teams in the state.
