Q&A with JT Shank

Q: What has the recruiting process been like for you?

Shank: The recruiting process has had its up and downs for me. I talked to my first school the beginning of my sophomore year and had talked to a lot of different schools since then. I have had a lot of help from a lot of different people that believe in me and the dreams I am chasing. This has helped me a lot in the process and keeps me working hard every day. Being able to play in front of all these different schools has given me a great opportunity to play at the next level.

Q: Who has had the biggest impact on your baseball career?

Shank: My dad has had the biggest impact on my baseball career. He has always been there for me through the thick and thin. He was the one that taught me how to play the game that I fell in love with and I am grateful for that every single day.

Q: What are you most excited about for the ’22 high school season?

Shank: For the ’22 high school season I am most excited to just play baseball again and represent my school. To play with all my friends that I’ve gotten very close with over my high school career.

Q: What goals do you have for the upcoming season and future?

Shank: Our goal at Rock Canyon for the upcoming season is to bring a State Championship back to our school. We aren’t satisfied with just making the playoffs and winning games, we want to be the last team standing.

Q: Lastly, out of all the PBR events you have attended in your career, what has PBR meant to you during your time playing baseball in Colorado?

Shank: PBR has helped me get into going to showcases and has allowed me to show my skills. PBR events are always run very well and have a great lay out so you can show off all your skills in one day. Mr. Anderson has done a great job with PBR in Colorado ever since taking over.
