Assistant State Director of Scouting

PBR Colorado is continuing it's look at committed players and recently we had a chance to catch up with the No. 31 PBR Colorado ranked player in 2015 and Northern Colorado commit, Connor Reynolds.  At 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, Reynolds is a strong athletic short stop with an upper 80's arm and great range up the middle.  At the plate last year, Reynolds hit .388 drove in 28 runs and had 26 hits (half of them were extra base hits including 4 homeruns.)  Reynolds who was 2nd team All-League last year and selected to play in the Colorado Rockies Futures Game will look to build off a strong junior year and lead the Bulldogs in 2015.

PBR: Why did you choose Northern Colorado?

Reynolds:  I chose Northern Colorado because they give me the best opportunity to start quicker and provide better the best tools with coaches, facilities and conference to get me to the next level, and to better myself as a person while getting an education.

PBR: Where did Northern Colorado first see you compete?

Reynolds:  I believe Northern Colorado first saw me compete at a local game for them playing, the Greeley Go Jo's. I was on the Brighton Bulldogs Summer team my sophomore summer.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Reynolds:  With the amount of infielders graduating this year from college they expect me to play a large vital role in the lineup as well as on the field.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help UNC?

Reynolds:  I believe my biggest strength, as a player is to be able to play and mesh with a new group of players very quickly. Being that I have played on many teams for one tournament here and there through out travel ball. I have been able to learn to adapt myself with other players and other coaching styles and I have been able to start the chemistry with the other players, which you need.

PBR:  What advice would you give about the recruiting process?

Reynolds:  Advice I would give to other players within the recruiting process is to start early and to not be afraid to be told no. Also to never say no always keep your options open, you never burn a bridge with a coach, they all have connections. Hustle on and off the field and get your work done off the field.

PBR:  What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Reynolds:  My most memorable baseball moment today is hitting in Go ahead runs late in the championship game in New Mexico this past summer to get us the win over 52 teams.

PBR:  What would you say are your best assets both on and off the field that will help your team this year?

Reynolds:  I believe my best assets on and off the field is my hard work. I work hard on the field from start to finish and even more than that and then off the field to better my studies to keep me eligible, otherwise I lose my scholarship and also do you show them that I am a hard dedicated worker.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher/hitter you have faced in Colorado?

Reynolds:  Toughest pitcher I have faced in Colorado would be Logan Soole. Lefty from Monarch High School.

PBR: What are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?

Reynolds:  My goals for us as a team this up-and-coming season is for us to be able to compete and compete well I'm on with the top teams in the state of Colorado for five a baseball. To win our conference, move on to state playoffs, and get hot and stay hot and play Brighton baseball. Individually my goals are to do whatever I can to help us as a team accomplish our team goals. whatever that requires for me to do, then that's what I plan on doing.
