Prep Baseball Report Colorado is ready to hit the ground running in 2015 with two major events. With the Underclass Invitational at Slammers South just two weeks away, limited spots are still available for this event. Over the next two weeks, PBR Colorado will continue to introduce you to 2017 and 2018 players who have committed to this event. Beginning our second round look at registered players is No.1 Ranked 2017 Caleb Sloan, 6-foot-4, 190-pound, RHP from Regis Jesuit High School.
PBR: Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:
Sloan: I want to be the hardest working player on the field and play baseball with the same intensity I play with on the football field. However, there is always time to laugh and have fun with my teammates.
PBR: What would be your dream school to play baseball at?
Sloan: DI school with great academics and a team full of coaches and players with the talent and drive to win a national championship.
PBR: What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?
Sloan: Hopefully my teammates consider me a great teammate; someone they want to compete with and know they can always count on.
PBR: What does your off-season preparation look like this year compared to you freshman year?
Sloan: I hit the weight room with the baseball team the day after Regis Jesuit was knocked out of the Football playoffs. I also worked out with Slammers and their intense arm speed/strength program in Nov-Dec to get a "jump" on the baseball season hoping to make the Regis Jesuit Varsity Baseball team this spring.
PBR: What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?
Sloan: Always play with confidence, but be humble and "respect the game".
PBR: What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?
Sloan: I don't have any superstitions.
PBR: What are your goals for:
This Season: Earn a spot on the Varsity team and be a contributor in Regis Jesuit winning a baseball state championship.
Two Years: As senior, my goal is to be a team leader on the team that wins a state title in football and baseball. By January 2017, I hope to have a commitment to a top university and it would be a dream come true to hear my name called in the 2017 MLB Draft.
Four Years: Playing baseball and football at a top competing DI University, while earning a great education.
