Q&A with Underclass Invitational Participant R. Sanjay Solomon

Prep Baseball Report Colorado is ready to hit the ground running in 2016 with two major events. The Underclass Invitational event at Slammers South will take take place on January 31st. Over the coming weeks, PBR Colorado will introduce you to 2018 and 2019 players who have committed to this event. Continuing our look is 2018 RHP/OF R. Sanjay Solomon of Boulder High School.

PBR: Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:
Solomon: I play hard no matter what, it's important to give it your best every time you go out there on the mound.

PBR: What would be your dream school to play baseball at? If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?

Solomon: My dream school is Stanford because of their excellent academic program as well as their outstanding baseball program as well.

PBR: What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?
Solomon: My best assets are there I work hard in the classroom and on the field, as well as in the weight room. I think it's very important to do your best in school because grades are important in getting into a good college.

PBR: What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?
Solomon: The best advice I have received is to take your time on the mound and to not rush things.

PBR: What does your off-season routine look like to prepare for the upcoming season?
Solomon: My off-season routine consists of lifting 3 times a week as well as working on agility and speed training. Also I continue to throw on Sunday's to keep my arm healthy.

PBR: What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?
Solomon: I don't really have any superstitions when I play but if I had to pick one, I guess it would be that I always wear dress socks under my pants.

PBR: What are your goals for:
This year: My goal is to throw 86-88 by the end of the year.
Two years: My goal is to have committed to one of my top 10 schools.
Four years: My goal is to have a successful college career, and hopefully be in a position to get drafted.
