This past weekend at the Hylands Hills Sports Complex 14 of the best 13U D1 and D2 teams competed in the Colorado Spring Opener No.3. Below is the recap of the 13D1 semi-finals and championship game. To see complete results of the tournament click here

Recap of 13UD2 Championship Game
Colorado Yard Dawgs - White 13U snatched the lead late in the game in a 10-8 victory over 5280 Tigers Blue 13U on Sunday. The game was tied at five with theYard Dawgs  batting in the bottom of the fourth when Troy Cardona singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
The Yard Dawgs took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth 2024 C Ben Krza tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Gabe Jacobs singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and then a wild pitch allowed two runs to score for the Yard Dawgs, and Noah Horne singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
A five-run lead in the fourth inning was just enough for Yard Dawgs to hold off 5280 Tigers Blue 13U for the victory. 5280 Tigers Blue 13U scored three runs in the failed comeback in the fifth, a single by Elliot in the sixth, and a in the sixth.
Colin Mackenzie got the win for the Yard Dawgs.  He surrendered zero runs on one hit over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Brett McGraw threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
