The Hotlist: Unsigned Senior Pitchers

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

While the recruiting game certainly has sped up, it doesn’t mean there aren’t any schools still looking for 2015 recruits this late in the game. Pitching is always a commodity and you can never have enough. Listed alphabetically below are several senior pitchers still looking for a place to continue their careers.

Tyler Allen RHP, Sheridan HS, AR
Allen definitely passes the eye test at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds. He works from a high-3/4 slot with a clean arm action and pounds the bottom of the strike zone with his fastball. It’s heavy with late sink and sits 81-84 mph. He uses two different breaking balls—a slider with gradual break at 71-73 and a curveball at 67-69 with late, 12/6 action. Allen also mixes in a changeup with good arm speed, arm-side run and sink at 73-75. In 37 innings this spring, he has a 1.83 ERA, 39 strikeouts and 10 walks.
