By Jeff Markle
Assistant State Director

The Colorado Top Prospect games are just one month away and we would like to begin to spotlight some of the participants at this years event.  Over the course of the next four weeks Prep Baseball Report Colorado will run Q&A's with many of the participants giving you a chance to get to know them better.  Continuing our look is Conner Nantkes, 2017, 6-foot-1, 180-pound, LHP/OF from Cherokee Trail High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:

Nantkes:  As a player I would describe myself as extremely competitive and aggressive.

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?

Nantkes:  My dream school would be to play for Stanford

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?

Nantkes:  My best asset on and off the field is probably my competitive personality, this is the reason I try to be my best in the classroom, weight room, and on the field.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?

Nantkes:  The best advice I've received was from my dad. He's always told me to "be a bulldog on the mound".

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?

Nantkes:  During the season when we were on a 12 game winning streak, I didn't wash my uniform, I wore the same pair or socks every game, and only cleaned my left cleat before every game.

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season: To win a state championship and pitch at All-city field!

Two Years:  Be committed to a good D1 program

Four Years: Be playing and doing everything I can to help my college team to win and get to Omaha!
