Brandon Maes, C, Pueblo South, 2016
Currently ranked 22 in the 2016 class. 6-foot-0, 210-pound right-handed hitting catcher.  He had a fluid exchange that produces pop times between 2.06 and 2.13 and throws that were mostly close to the bag.  Good movement behind the plate with a quiet body and soft hands when receiving pitches.  Maes has a 73 MPH positional velocity and ran a 4.68 home to first.  At the plate, he showed excellent power from a swing that stayed on plane and in the hitting zone.  Quick hands and lower leg drive produced a showcase best 93 MPH exit velocity.

Tyson Zanski, C, Grand Junction, 2016
Currently ranked No. 23 in the 2016 class. The 6-1, 195lb junior catcher has a strong athletic frame; this gives him great presence behind the plate.  His size behind the plate compliments his mobility left and right and a strong arm (threw out 30% of runners) makes him a complete player.  At the plate, Zanki is a switch hitter with good power, gap to gap.  He hit for a .444 average his sophomore year and hit .385 with 21 RBI's with 6 doubles his junior year. Has quick feet and strong arm, consistent pop times of 1.90, 1.92, 195.  Places the ball on top of the bag constantly.  Excellent movement blocking balls to both sides of the plate .  Soft glove that receives pitches well, does a nice job of getting around the ball on close pitches. From left side did not have a problem turning on an inside fastball.

Chris Diehl, C, Rocky Mountain, 2016
Currently ranked No. 29 in the 2016 class. 5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher, a member of the defending 5A state champion Lobos.  At the plate, athletic-balanced set up, no wasted movement in load, smooth, fast bat speed with level path, strong lower half, works inside the ball with middle-opposite approach, pull power, and posted an exit velocity of 90 MPH off the tee, runs a 7.70 60-time.  As a catcher, fluid footwork, quiet lower half, soft hands and a clean exchange, accurate throws at 78 MPH, pop times between 1.94 and 2.04. Vocal leader behind the plate.

Offensively, he starts with a balanced, athletic stance and has a simple load with a level bat path. Hit two home runs out during batting practice. Shows power potential at the plate.
