The Prep Baseball Report’s Wyoming Prospect ID Showcase was held in Cheyenne Wyoming. 44 prospects completed a pro-style workout for the PBR Colorado's Scouting Staff, several of whom were new to the staff. There were some impressive numbers that came out of the event on this weekend.

Over the next week we will break down the event by position.  Continuing our look at the Wyoming Prospect ID is the corners position.

Corner Analysis:

CJ Blaskowski, 3B/C Eaton High School (2019)
A 5-foot-11, 185-pound right hand hitting 3B/C who ran a 7.30 60.  At the plate he is balanced with a double toe tap on the stride.  Weight shifts forward on the swing and he hits off a firm front side.  Swing path is level and his exit velocity was 78 MPH.  In the field he shows good movement and soft hands.  He gets rid of the ball quickly and delivers an accurate 75 MPH ball across the diamond.  On the mound he has a quick motion to balance and falls to the plate.  Good extension out front and consistent arm speed on pitches.  His fastball was 77 MPH with good command away.  He added a 71 MPH curve and a 73 MPH change down in the zone. 

Cody Frazier, 3B/2B, Riverton High School (2018)
A 5-foot-8, 155-pound right hand hitting 3B/2B who ran a 7.40 60.  At the plate he is upright and balanced.  Long stride gets the hands and weight coming forward.  Will benefit from loosening up a bit in the box.  Swing path is level with good extension at contact.  Exit velocity was 80 MPH.  In the field he covers good ground at 3rd base.  He showed smooth actions and a quick transfer.  Arm velocity was 68 MPH with some accuracy to the bag.

Ridge MccCoy, 1B/OF, Riverton High School (2018)
A 6-foot-4, 220-pound switch hitting 1B/OF who ran a 7.10 60.  For this event we saw him from the left side.  He is a big presence in the box and hits to all fields well.  He is balanced at set up and aggressively drives his lower half through the ball at contact.  He showcased quick hands and extension at contact.  Exit velocity was 92 MPH off the tee.  In the field he uses long legs to cover ground at 1B.  He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and show good feet turning two.  Arm velocity was 72 MPH. 

Brendan O’Brien, 1B/RHP, Broomfield High School (2019)
A 5-foot-9, 170-pound right hand hitting 1B/RHP who ran a 7.80 60.  At the plate he stands balanced with a long stride on the pitch.  Weight rotates through the zone on the swing, hands finish high from an uphill swing path.  Exit velocity was 81 MPH.  At first base he shows good hands and feet on double play balls.  He delivers an accurate 71 MPH ball to the bag and shows good instincts getting back.  On the mound he has a smooth motion, at balance he rocks back and falls to the plate.  He closes off on the landing and throws across his body.  Arm slot is high ¾ and his fastball was 74 MPH.  He also showcased a 65 MPH curve with sweeping break and a 66 MPH change.

Maximus Pedroza, 3B/RHP, Cheyenne East High School (2019)
A 5-foot-9, 155-pound right hand hitting 3B/RHP who ran a 7.90 60.  At the plate he starts slightly open with a high leg kick to come square.  Weight and hands fire forward on the swing and he hits off a firm front side.  Swing path is slightly uphill with a 79 MPH exit velocity.  At 3rd base he showed good range and soft hands.  Delivery is a bit long but accurate.  Arm velocity was 71 MPH from a high ¾ arm slot.  On the mound his motion is smooth and compact.  He sinks just after balance and drives to the plate.  He lands in-line on his delivery and arm is over the top.  Fastball was 78 MPH with good command.  He added a 67 MPH curve with 11/5 break and a 71 MPH change down in the zone. 

Daultyn Rux, 3B/RHP, Kelly Walsh High School (2019)
A 5-foot-1, 152-pound right hand hitting 3B/RHP who ran a 7.70 60.  At the plate he starts balanced with high hands.  A short stride on the pitch loads his weight on his back side.  Hands and hips fire through the zone.  Showcased good bat control and the ability to hit the ball the other way.  Exit velocity was 80 MPH.  At 3rd base he showed quick feet and good positioning.  Good hands allowed him to have a quick high ¾ release.  Arm velocity was 72 MPH with accuracy to the bag.   

Michael Schutterle, 1B/RHP, Laramie High School (2019)
A 5-foot-11, 158-pound right hand hitting 1B/RHP who ran a 7.80 60.  At the plate he stands upright and balanced.  Uses a double stride to load on his back side.  Weight slides forward on the swing.  High hands lead to a slight loop in his swing path.  Exit velocity was 79 MPH off the tee. At first base he showed good awareness and position on double play balls.  Smooth actions and soft hands put him in good throwing position.  He showcased a 66 MPH arm.
