Quick Hits - 2026 New England Top Prospect Games: Session 1

On June 18th, our staff hosted the 2026 New England Top Prospect Games: Session 1 at Mitchell College (New London, CT). Over 65 players attended this event and gave our staff a continuing list of prospects to keep tabs on in the Classes of 2027 to 2030.
We continue our post-event coverage with our Quick Hits from this event; highlighting some of the top players that showed out at this event. Enjoy!
POSITION PLAYERS

Francis Conners-Schmid OF / LHP / Salisbury School, CT / 2028Conners-Schmid stands at 6-2, 215 lbs and is currently ranked #2 overall in the most recent August rankings update. The top-ranked position player in the class put on a show in his batting practice round belting six consecutive home runs, while recording a max exit velocity of 106.3 mph (101.0 mph average), a max distance of 421 ft (358 ft average), and a 75.3 mph max bat speed (72.7 mph average). He has true power potential at the next level, but his player profile does not stop there. He ran a 1.58 sec 10-yard split and a swift 6.84 sec 60-yard dash, along with an outfield velocity of 90 mph.

Luke Connors SS / Masters Academy International, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 3
Connors stands tall at 6-3, 181.2 lbs. The recent Rutgers commit (8/18/26) is an athletic middle-infielder with an advanced toolset and is one of the top defenders in the class. Defensively, Connors registered an infield velocity of 87 mph and above-average actions, which projects him to stay at shortstop down the line. Connors ran a 1.64 sec 10-yard burst and 7.1 sec 60-yard dash. At the plate, Connors recorded a max exit velocity of 96.4 mph (86.6 mph average), along with a max bat speed of 70.0 mph (64.1 mph average).

Michael Currier 1B / RHP / St. Marks, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 91 / POS: 11
Currier stands at 6-1, 200 lbs. He had a great day between the showcase and gameplay at the Top Prospect Games. Currier had multiple hits during gameplay, and recorded a max exit velocity of 96.4 mph (89.1 mph average), while also, producing an max bat speed of 74.9 mph (71.7 mph average). Currier moves well for his frame with an arm velocity of 80 mph, and ran 1.64 sec 10-yard split and a 7.02 sec 60-yard dash.

Charlie Hellmuth OF / Worcester Academy, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 207 / POS: 43
Hellmuth stands at a 6-3, 185 lbs. He features fast hands with a loose, athletic swing, and recorded a max exit velocity of 94.1 mph (80.7 mph average) and an impressive 79.7 mph max bat speed (73.3 mph average). Hellmuch is an athletic outfielder with efficient movements and tracks the ball extremely well. He recorded an outfield velocity of 85 mph, while running a 1.72 sec 10-yard split and 6.88 sec 60-yard dash.

Ryan Holmes C / Westminster School, CT / 2028Holmes stands at 6-0, 190.5 lbs. The 9th overall ranked player in the class showcased his advanced hit tool with a max exit velocity of 99.6 mph (88.8 mph avg), along with a max bat speed of 78.6 mph (74.1 mph avg). The backstop ran a 1.76 sec 10-yard split and 7.49 sec 60-yard dash. He showed a catcher velocity of 70 mph and a pop time of 2.03-2.13.

John Kraus 1B / OF / Worcester Academy, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 53 / POS: 5
Kraus stands at 6-1, 185 lbs. John is an athletic, versatile player with loose hands and an uphill stroke with power to the pull side. He recorded a max exit velocity of 99 mph (91.4 mph average), 360 ft max distance, and a max bat speed of 82.2 mph (74.3 mph average). Kraus showed his raw athleticism with a 1.58 sec 10-yd split, a 6.81 sec 60-yd time (20.0 mph max speed), and a 26.5" max vertical jump.

Colin Ma 3B / St Mark's School, MA / 2029Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 1
Ma stands at 6-0, 185 lbs. Colin stood out and is now ranked #2 overall after the September rankings update. He has excellent barrel control with a legit power profile to the pull side, including a home run during gameplay, and an intriguing follow moving forward. Ma flexed a max exit velocity of 102.9 mph (88.7 mph average), along with a strong max bat speed of 82.2 mph (74.7 mph average). Athletically, Ma moves well at the hot corner and registered an infield velocity of 76 mph, followed up by a 1.61 sec 10-yd split and a 7.13 sec 60-yd dash.

Alex Marx SS / RHP / St Sebastians School, MA / 2029Marx stands tall with a 6-4, 175 lbs. frame. He recorded a max exit velocity of 94.1 mph (79.6 mph average), while generating a max bat speed of 72.1 mph (70.0 mph average). Marx moves well and features a high 3/4 slot with an infield velocity of 82 mph. He ran a 1.7 sec 10-yd split and 7.06 sec 60-yd dash. Marx also projects well on the mound with a max fastball velocity of 88 mph back in February 2026.

Cameron Nelson C / St Marks, MA / 2029Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 2
Nelson stands at 5-11, 170 lbs. The athletic backstop has a short stroke and loose hands with consistent barrels from gap to gap. He recorded a max exit velocity of 94.9 mph (90.7 mph average), a max distance of 364 ft (334 ft average), and a 74.6 mph max bat speed (72.3 mph average). He showed a catcher velocity of 73 mph and a pop time of 2.13-2.23.

Jacob Williams OF / Austin Preparatory, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 54 / POS: 10
Williams stands at 6-2, 190 lbs. The recent Boston College commit (8/10/26) showed his off-the-charts athleticism with a 1.57 sec (10-yd) and 3.65 sec (30-yd) splits, and finishing with a 6.61 sec 60-yd dash (20.8 mph max run speed). Williams also had a max vertical jump of 29.4". He recorded an outfield velocity of 87 mph. In the box, Williams starts with a high-hands setup and a really whippy bat path with raw power through the middle. He recorded a max exit velocity of 93.7 mph (79.4 mph average).

Liam Zeller 1B / RHP / Choate Rosemary Hall, CT / 2028Rankings StateRank: 34 / POS: 2
Zeller stands out with a 6-4, 230 lbs. frame. The physical corner infielder has pull side juice from a simple setup with short-to-no stride. Consistenly found barrels in his batting practice round and features a high 1-handed finish. He showcased his raw power by recording a max exit velocity of 103.1 mph (91.1 mph average), 372 ft max distance, and 76.9 mph max bat speed (73.2 mph average). Zeller also projects well on the mound with max fastball velocity of 89.0 mph, paired with a sweeping slider, and tumbling changeup.

PITCHERS

Dylan Cunningham RHP / Austin Preparatory School, MA / 2028Cunningham stands at a 6-2, 195 lbs. featuring a strong lower half and very physical build. On the mound, Dylan has a fast arm and is explosive with the lower half. His fastball sat 89-92 mph (T92.7 mph, 2539 RPM max, 24.1" IVB) paired with a big-league curveball at 75-77 mph (2946 RPM max, -21.9" IVB max), and a changeup at 79-80 mph (1796 RPM). Cunningham's fastball & breaking ball combo projects well at the next level and makes facing him a tough at-bat every time.

Andrew Fancher RHP / Tabor Academy, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 33 / POS: 11
Fancher stands at 6-3, 180 lbs. On the mound, Fancher delivers from a 3/4 slot and is super athletic (6.30 sec 60-yd dash, 27.6" max vertical jump). An exciting follow, for sure, and more room to grow. His fastball sat 85-87 mph (T87.6 mph, 2184 RPM max, 19.4" IVB max), alongside a curveball with sweeping action at 73-75 mph (2101 RPM max).

Chace King RHP / St Paul Catholic High School, CT / 2028Rankings StateRank: 36 / POS: 12
King stands at 5-10, 175 lbs. The RHP delivers from a higher slot with a high leg kick, and aggressive in the strike zone with all pitches. King throws a 2-way fastball (ride & sink) and sat 85-87 mph (T87.6 mph, 2318 RPM max, 23.7" IVB max, 19.9" HM max). He also mixed in a big sweeping breaking ball with a 2-plane shape and sat at 72-75 mph (2647 RPM max, 2552 RPM average, -9.8" IVB max, -15.4" HM max). King just turned 16 years-old and is a Name to Know in the Class of 2028.

Evan Koh RHP / Acton-Boxborough Regional High, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 41 / POS: 15
Koh stands at 6-3, 178 lbs. A clean, smooth delivery down the slope and more room to grow physically. On the mound, Koh throws a ride fastball and sat 82-84 mph (T86 mph, 18.6" IVB max). His secondary offerings include a tight-spinning slider that sat 72-73 (-11.5" HM max) and a change-up that showed fading action at 76-78 (1450 RPM average).

Max LaMonica RHP / Dexter Southfield, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 21 / POS: 6
LaMonica stands at 6-2, 190 lbs. The recent re-class has a shorter leg kick and glides down the slope, while generating swing and miss on his fastball-breaking ball combo. His 2-way fastball sat 87-89 mph (T89.2 mph, 2244 RPM max, 20.9" IVB max, 14.7" HM max) paired with a 2-plane curveball at 76-79 mph (2707 RPM max, 2634 RPM average, -17.2" IVB max, -17.9" HM max). Max features as electric a repertoire as anyone in his class, making him a valuable addition to the Dexter Southfield rotation next spring.

Owen Ma RHP / St. Mark's school, MA / 2028Ma stands at 6-0, 195 lbs. featuring a strong lower half and wide shouldered setup. The recent Boston College commit (8/6/26) continued to impress our staff at the Top Prospect Games. He works from a set position from the 3B side with a short leg-kick and some cross-body fire. Ma is a supinator and features a 3-pitch mix that breaks away from right-handed hitters. His ride fastball sat 88-90 mph (T90.8 mph, 2378 RPM max, 2264 RPM average, 21.6" IVB max). His also has two different breaking ball profiles with the curveball sitting 74-77 (2594 RPM max) and the slider sitting 75-77 (2669 RPM max).

William Wainwright RHP / Xaverian Brothers High School, MA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 82 / POS: 26
Wainwright stands at 6-1, 180 lbs. William works from a set position on the 1B side with a high leg kick and hides the ball well, making his fastball jump on hitters quicker than expected. His fastball sat 83-85 mph (T86 mph, 2225 RPM max, 14.5" HM max), while also mixing in a sweeping slider at 75-78 mph (T79.3 mph, 2573 RPM max, -17.4" HM max), and a changeup at 79-80 mph (19.6" HM max).
