The PBR Evaluation & Measurables Showcase took place October 7th at Keystone State Baseball Academy. Today we continue a series of articles analyzing the prospects in attendance with a look at prospects from the Class of 2020 that participated.

Class of 2020 - Top Prospects

Drew BechtoldRyan LindenmuthJoseph Rossi

Drew Bechtold, C/2B, Donegal HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 155-pound backstop continues to showcase advanced defensive abilities behind the dish. On this date Bechtold flashed pop times of 1.98-2.07 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch. He is athletic behind the plate and is a quiet receiver. His footwork and transition are clean and there is little wasted movement in his catch and release. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a middle of the field approach during a solid round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash and showcased the capability to handle defensive chores at second base as well.

Ryan Lindenmuth, RHP/3B, Pottsville Area HS (PA)
Broad shouldered 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-hander sat 81-83 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Displayed a short take away with good extension out front and arm-side run to his fastball with late life. Curveball showed 11/5 rotation at 66-70 and changeup was thrown with good sell at 66-71. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Stays in his legs well while showing the ability to create backspin leading to a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash and showcased active feet while playing through the baseball routinely at third base. Registered accurate 79 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Joseph Rossi, C/RHP, Holy Cross HS (PA)
6-foot, 220-pound primary catcher showcased pop times of 2.06-2.15 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. Showed quick feet and a clean transition while consistently putting throws on the bag. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased balance throughout with a strong lower half and a bat exit velocity of 85 mph. Sat 75-80 on the mound from multiple arm slots. Most effect from the low-3/4 arm slot which allows for arm-side run on the fastball and frisbee rotation on his slider.

Joey Christian, 2B/SS, North Penn HS (PA)
5-foot-7, 145-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to start his swing. Displayed a balanced, line drive approach with a flat barrel path through the hitting zone. Registered a 73 mph bat exit velocity and ran an event best 7.05 60-yard dash. Showcased a quick release defensively from a 3/4 arm slot with 71 mph arm strength across the diamond. 

Paul Croyle, SS/2B, Pennridge HS (PA)
6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a line drive approach during batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash and displayed a developing defensive skill set with 73 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Jackson Greathouse, OF, Dallastown Area HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride from a high hands load. Registered a 70 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Displayed the ability to routinely play through the baseball defensively with accurate 71 mph arm strength from the outfield.

Brandon Hatch, RHP/3B, Caesar Rodney HS (DE)
6-foot-3, 180-pound two-way prospect sat 80-82 from a high 3/4 arm slot with short arm-side run to his fastball. Displayed repeatable mechanics with a short side rocker step to begin and balance throughout. Curveball showed 11/5 rotation at 60-63 and changeup at 69-71 was thrown at near fastball arm speed. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to begin. Hands work well through contact and ball comes off the barrel well. Showcased a middle of the field approach with an 80 mph bat exit velocity. Showed capable actions at third base with accurate 73 mph arm strength across the diamond and ran a 7.50 60-yard dash.

Alex Kee, 3B, North Penn HS (PA)
5-foot-8, 200-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, square stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Showcased a middle of the field approach with a flat barrel path through the hitting zone and a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. Displayed a developing defensive skill set at third base with a 3/4 throwing motion that registered 71 mph across the diamond with tailing action.

Ray Knight, SS, Pennridge HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a line drive approach with a flat barrel path through the hitting zone resulting in a bat exit velocity of 70 mph. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash and showcased sound fielding mechanics with accurate 73 mph arm strength across the diamond. Plays through the baseball routinely and showed the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles.

Joey Kuzniewski, RHP, Hampton HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 150-pound primary pitcher sat 76-78 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Showcased balanced, repeatable mechanics that begin with a short side-rocker step. Curveball showed 11/5 rotation at 62-64 while slider had a tighter break at 65-66. Changeup at 70-71 was thrown at near fastball arm speed. Displayed good feel for all pitches and will likely see velocity gains as his athletic frame fills out and adds strength.
