2014 MLB Draft Rundown



The 2014 MLB Draft concluded this weekend with another strong year for Florida high school baseball. Florida’s strong presence in the 2014 MLB draft was evident as 161 players with Florida roots were selected, of which 48 were high school players.

On the first day of the draft, the Minnesota Twins selected Olympia High School SS Nick Gordon with the 5th pick of the 1st round. Two more Florida high school players were 1st round selections that night, as the Diamondbacks selected Coral Springs Christian RHP Touki Toussaint with the 16th pick and The First Academy LHP Foster Griffin was the 28th pick of the Royals.
