2015 Player Spotlight: Jason Heinrich - River Ridge

This week’s 2015 Player Spotlight is on River Ridge P/1B Jason Heinrich.  The 6-foot-1 200 pound Heinrich was the 2014 St. Pete Times’ North Suncoast Player of the Year. The University of Central Florida commit  was stellar at the plate and on the mound. A power bat who also runs a  60 time below 7 seconds, Heinrich hit .543.

On the mound, Heinrich has  a fastball in the low 90’s and a tight breaking ball. This past season,  Heinrich had a 9-1 record while striking out 70 in 59 innings pitched.  Heinrich also competed Sunday in this year’s junior home run derby at Target Field in Minnesota during this year’s MLB All-Star festivities which could  be a preview of future things to come for this MLB prospect.
