2018 marks the 7th year that Pennsylvania will be represented in the PBR Future Games. This one-of-a-kind event will feature the best uncommitted Class of 2020 & select 2021 prospects from our 35-plus state coverage area. The Future Games will take place on August 1 - 4 (Wednesday-Saturday) at Grand Park, a state-of-the-art 22-field baseball complex located in Westfield, IN, just north of Indianapolis.

The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is the premier summer scouting event for Class of 2020/2021 prospects. Last year, more than 250 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance, making it arguably the most heavily recruited event of the summer.

Today we begin a preview of the 19 prospects that will represent the Keystone State as members of Team Pennsylvania with a look at a pair of 2021 catchers.

Team Pennsylvania catchers

Sammy Contacos C / 3B / Penn-Trafford, PA / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 1 6/12/18: (Western PA Top Prospect Games) 6-foot-1, 185-pound backstop showcased the top arm among catchers at the event with pop times of 1.94-2.05 on throws of 76 mph out of the crouch. The underclassman displayed above average carry on throws with solid footwork and a clean release. In game action he showed a soft glove hand, a soft wall when blocking and a willingness to back pick when appropriate. The right-handed hitter sets up in a square stance with a high back elbow load. He initiates his lower half with a leg-hang stride and creates backspin with an uphill path through the hitting zone. Displayed present pull side power in BP with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. With continued strength gains in the coming years could develop into a power right-hand bat in this class.

John Seibert C / OF / Warwick, PA / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 3 OverallRank: 290 / POS: 28 1.28.18: (Preseason All-State Showcase) 6-foot-1, 205-pounder with an advanced frame is athletic in all his actions. Began his impressive day by running a 6.80 60-yard dash. The backstop showcased pop times of 2.00-2.06 on throws of 77 mph from the crouch with a clean transition and quick feet. Throws had good carry and were consistently on the bag. Quiet receiver handled elevated velocity well in bullpen session and presented a soft wall when blocking. Right-handed hitter put together one of the top rounds of batting practice over the course of the two day event. Starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Showcased balance throughout and present power to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 95 mph. Was added to the Team Pennsylvania roster for the 2018 PBR Future Games shortly after the completion of the event.
