With the State Games coming this fall, we want to take a look at some players that stood out this summer. With the theme of #RepYourRegion, we will highlight players from each region of Florida who stood out this summer. With the Senior State Games coming first, we will start with 2021 standouts. Today, we will take a look at 10 2021 standouts from the West Florida Region. Take a look.

2021 West Florida Standouts

Andrew Burns 1B / OF / Steinbrenner, FL / 2021

Rankings StateRank: 204 / POS: 13

Standout at the All-State Games

Positional Profile: 1B/OF
Body: 6-foot-4, 195-pounds. High waisted, strong, athletic, projectable frame.
Defense: Light on feet, athletic crow hop, working in line with target gaining ground on release.
Arm: RH. OF - 79 mph. High 3/4 arm slot, long to short arm action, accurate throws on target.
Hit: RHH. Wide, athletic setup, short stride, strong/quiet hands, short stride. Level bat path, short/compact swing, hands stay inside of baseball, hard contact out front of zone, above average bat speed.
Power: 92 mph exit velocity. Natural power to gaps. Hard line drives.
Run: 6.78 runner in the 60.

Max Galvin OF / LHP / IMG Academy, FL / 2021

Standout at the Florida Select

Very physical and lean athletic frame. He has a strong lower half that he uses well. Has some length and stiffness at times in the swing, but loose, quick hands and present strength more than makes up for it. Defensively, his athleticism plays well with above average routes in the outfield. Very intriguing upside for an uncommitted 2021.

Strong, athletic frame. Reaches balance point, effective when staying on top of baseball. FB:86-88 T:90 mph. CB:72-74. CH:79-80 - circle change action. SL: 77-78 -swing/miss, sharp action

Standout at the Florida State Games

Wiry frame with advanced body control. The USF commit works with high energy and attacks hitters on the mound. Up tempo delivery with a low 3/4 slot, tilts the upper body creating torque and gets over the front side with force and a quick arm. Loose action to the arm with potential for a velocity jump as he touched 89 mph with the fastball and couples it with a sweeping low-mid 70s breaking ball. Adds in a 79-81 mph CH to boot.

Arm: RH. INF - 85 mph. OF - 86 mph. Long arm path, proper body separation creating explosive arm action. Arm strength present. INF - short to long arm path, quick release.

Uncommitted 2021 is a tall athletic southpaw. High waisted with long legs. Wade comes from a high ¾ slot and was working 85-87 T88 with late sink on the fastball. Intriguing athletic uncommitted 21.
