Dunedin, FL- In pool play of the 2017 Spring Classic Tournament hosted by Dunedin HS, the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders took on the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes featuring a late inning comeback by the Hurricanes which included a six run seventh inning on way to an 8-2 victory. 2018 C Luca Tresh (Clearwater Central Catholic, FL) got the Marauders on the board early with a two-run single into the right-center field gap in the first, but the rest of the night their lineup was shut down by a solid pitching performance from 2019 LHP Andy Booth (Palm Harbor University, FL).

Booth struggled with some command in the first inning when he gave up the two runs, but settled down and locked in the rest of the way as he would only allow two more hits before he exited after six innings. The uncommitted sophomore finished his night with six strikeouts using a 77-80 mph fastball, touching 81 a couple times along with a 64-67 mph curveball that showed depth and shape and a 70-71 mph changeup. Booth has a tall, projectable frame with long legs and a loose arm that projects to gain velocity as he strengthens and matures.

2019 IF Tanner Mink (Palm Harbor University, FL) and 2020 OF Pat Keenan (Palm Harbor University, FL) combined to drive in four runs on the night as they paced the Hurricanes offense. Mink went 1-for-4 at the plate which included a run scored while Keenan went 2-for-4 which included a double that drove in two runs as part of their six run seventh inning outburst.

With the win, Palm Harbor moved to 1-0 in pool play for the tournament and are scheduled to take on Dunedin HS tonight at 8:30pm. Clearwater Central Catholic fell to 1-1 and will face East Lake HS at 6pm tonight.
