The Florida Dodgers Scout Team held their Dodger Day Showcase on Sunday, November 10th at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. The event featured uncommitted prospects from the 2020-2023 classes participating in a pro-style workout. Our PBR Florida scouting staff was there in attendance. Today, we take a look at the standouts from the Dodger Day Showcase.

Standouts

Dannon Smith (INF/RHP, Oakleaf)

Uncommitted 2021. Athletic movements in the infield with soft hands and above average range with good footwork. Had carry and accuracy on throws to 1st. Line drive swing as a hitter and good barrel awareness. As a RHP, has loose arm action with command of all pitches low in the zone and sitting 81-83 with the fastball. 

 

Mason Davis (C/OF/RHP, St. John’s Country Day)

Uncommitted 2021. Moved athletically all over the field and playing multiple positions. Had plus actions behind the plate with good footwork and carry and accuracy on throws to 2nd base with pop time at 1.95-2.05. Line drive swing at the plate with some pull side power.

James Oman (INF/OF, St. John’s Country Day)

Uncommitted 2021. Athletic movements in the outfield with quick footwork and quality first step with a 6.91 60 yard time. Carry and accuracy on throws to the infield. Tall setup at the plate with a leg kick to create rhythm and line drive swing and pull side power.
