Elite Squad held their 2020 Fall tryouts Friday, August 21 - Saturday August 22 at the Santaluces Sports Complex in Lake Worth, Florida. It was a two-day event which featured defensive evaluations on Friday night, followed by batting practice and live games on Saturday. Over 150 players from the 2021-2024 classes were in attendance. There were a lot of talented players in attendance, but several stood out the most. Take a look at the Elite Squad Tryout Standouts.

Michael Benedict SS / RHP / Martin County , FL / 2023

Very long, lean athletic frame. Loose, live arm. Up to 85 in game on the mound. Athletic and arm works freely. Gets extension, but more in the tank. Also showed the athleticism play defensively and offensively making him a high two way follow.

Derek Bermudez 3B / West Broward, FL / 2022

NC State commit. Physical RHH. Uses strong lower half well. Simple, compact swing. Swing translated in gameplay, as it seemingly always has. Bat is a real above average carrying tool.

Michael Bollinger Jr. C / RHP / St. Thomas Aquinas, FL / 2023

Bollinger showed two way potential. Up to 84 on the mound with his fastball and showed feel for the slider. Offensively, showed barrel awareness and a simple gap to gap approach.

Jorge De Goti OF / 3B / Belen Jesuit, FL / 2021

Florida commit. Strong lower half that he uses well to drive the ball gap to gap. Level line drive swing that makes the ball jump off the bat with ease. Loose above average arm defensively.

Dylan Howell C / 3B / ESB Academy , FL / 2024

Is a true catcher and showed above average flexibility, receiving ability and defensive potential. Athletic actions at short. Good first step, worked with rhythm and had above average hands. Offensively, there's present bat speed and plenty of upside.

Bryce Jackson 3B / RHP / William T Dwyer, FL / 2024

Advanced hit tool for his grade. Above average bat speed with feel for the barrel. Keeps the weight back with an aggressive swing. Very high ceiling on this 2024.

Kainen Jorge OF / Columbus, FL / 2021

Wake Forest commit. Tall, athletic frame with simple actions in the outfield. Moves well with an above average arm. Offensively, starts quiet with a low effort swing producing consistent hard gap to gap contact.

Zach Lebenson 1B / RHP / Jupiter, FL / 2023

Long athletic frame with a lot of upside offensively. Creates leverage in his swing and showed power potential to the pull side.

Ryan Liss OF / LHP / St. Thomas Aquinas, FL / 2023

Long, lean, projectable frame. Some length, but leverage and hands work freely. Nice follow.

George Lombard SS / 2B / Gulliver Prep, FL / 2023

Athletic frame. Works under control with rhythm from ground up. Looks the part of above average defender. He really stood out offensively. Stands tall with confidence that creates a presence in the box. Mature approach, likely from father being MLB coach. Swing is sound, simple, while creating above average bat speed and leverage. High finish and overall swing is high level.

Bryan Loriga 3B / Elite Squad Baseball Academy, FL / 2021

FIU commit. Strong bodied frame showed plus power potential as he launched several balls over the fence to the pull side. Consistent hard hit balls with a top exit velo of 101.

Kyle Marti SS / OF / Christopher Columbus, FL / 2021

Uncommitted 2021 with a lot of tools. Ran a 6.75 and showed athleticism all over the field. Showed well defensively in the outfield and at short. Offensively has a quick level swing with above average barrel awareness.

Rodolfo Martinez Jr C / 3B / Imater Academy , FL / 2022

Uncommitted 2021. Martinez really impressed behind the plate in game. Threw out three different base stealers with a short quick arm. Showed a strong block as he smothered dirt balls all game.

Kody Morgan OF / RHP / American Heritage , FL / 2024

Athletic frame with a live arm. Up to 85.

Kyle Morse RHP / Marjory Stoneman Douglas, FL / 2021

Uncommitted right-hander showed well on the mound with a fastball that topped 88 mph. The 6-foot-4, 190 pounder shouldn’t stay uncommitted for long.

Jordan Perez C / Mater Lakes, FL / 2023

Stocky, strong frame. Threw it well behind the plate. Translated to 83-85 on the mound with some life and tight CB at 73. Offensively, he used the athleticism and present strength well. Aggressive through the zone with power potential. Overall one of the more intriguing multi positional 2023 follows this weekend.

Ethan Puig 3B / 1B / Gulliver Prep, FL / 2024

Miami commit. Really like the advanced approach from the young man. Simple, hands work and generates easy bat speed.

David Ramos 1B / C / Broward Virtual Franchise, FL / 2021

Tall, high waisted frame. Showed some big time power in BP as he had a top exit velo of 101. Quick hands with a knack for the barrel.

Jake Santos 3B / Gulliver Prep, FL / 2022

Stocky, strong frame. Santos showed a simple, compact swing. Strength plays well.

Alejandro Sardinas OF / N/A, FL / 2024

Extremely projectable young frame. Loose, easy swing under control. Swing showed present bat speed and hitterish overall actions. High follow.

Ryan Scarry OF / Coral Reef Senior, FL / 2021

Uncommitted 2021. Scarry stood out with his athleticism all weekend. Ran a 6.56 and showed quickness and an above average arm from the outfield. Gap to gap hitter with a bat that plays.

Alex Ulloa SS / SS / Miami Christian, FL / 2021

Oklahoma State commit. Athletic frame with a strong lower half. Quick violent swing that produces high exit velos to both sides of the field. Defensively, moves well at short with a well above average arm.

Brandon White OF / RHP / Stoneman Douglas, FL / 2022

Athletic, lean projectable frame. Live arm from outfield up to 87. On the mound, he was up to 85 and the athleticism and live arm play. Still some rawness, but a follow going forward.

Edward Wood OF / 3B / Royal Palm Beach, FL / 2024

Barreled everything up through the rain in his first round. Very projectable, swing is level with a natural feel for the barrel.
