The 8A Regional Semifinals matchup between Plant City High School and Plant High school ended in walk-off fashion as Polk State commit, Hunter Emerine singled to right to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to give the Raiders the 3-2 victory. It was a low-scoring affair for most of the night thanks to pitching on both sides. For Plant City, 2020 Uncommitted Jarod Wingo got the start.

Wingo went all seven innings giving up two runs on four hits, while striking out six. The right-hander has a stocky frame and hides the ball well to keep hitters guessing.  Plant’s starter on the mound was 2019 Uncommitted Leo Oshinski. He threw 3 ⅔ innings giving up one run on two hits, while striking out two. Oshinski is a tall, lanky left-hander with a ¾ arm slot. He does a good job of mixing his pitches to keep hitters off balance. Plant City got on the board first in the second inning. FSU commit, Parker Messick led off the inning with a single, one of three hits on the day for him. He would later score on a couple errors by Plant. The Panthers would later score two in the fifth after RBI singles from 2019 JD Urso and Florida commit, Jac Caglianone.

Plant reliever Kyle Gates got into some trouble in the fifth when Stetson commit, Cade Shissler doubled down the left field line. Two more runners got on and the bases were loaded for Plant City. Plant went to the bullpen and brought in 2019 Uncommitted Gage Ricker, who got Hunter Emerine to pop out to end the inning and leave the bases loaded. With a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh, Plant was looking to close out a victory. Cade Shissler led the inning off with a single. Shissler would score on an error hit by Cole Cothren and would tie the game. Two batters later, Polk State commit, Hunter Emerine would smack a base hit to right, scoring the winning run from second giving Plant City the 3-2 victory. Plant City moves on to the 8A Regional Finals where they will face Seminole High School.
