On June 7th the PBR Florida Underclass Games will take place at the University of South Florida which will feature some of the top prospects from the 2019-2021 classes from throughout the state. Leading up to the event, we will highlight some of the prospects who will be in attendance through reports and video. Today we take a look at 2020 C/RHP McGwire Holbrook of Bishop Moore HS, FL.

McGwire Holbrook C / RHP / Bishop Moore, FL / 2020

01/21/17- The 5-foot-11, 180-pound C/RHP showed the ability to throw strikes with all three pitches. With fluid mechanics, the arm action is clean. The fastball ranged from 77-78 mph and could jump with improved extension. Also showed a feel for the slider at 64 mph and a changeup at 72-73 mph. Offensively, the right handed hitter shows a short, direct path to the ball. With quality rhythm and a good path, he projects to have pull side power as he continues to add strength. Defensively, behind the plate he is a solid, sound receiver. He shows a quick and clean transfer with pop times ranging from 2.0-2.1 that will continue to improve with strength. Overall, very intriguing young two-way talent.
