Florida Program Invitational: Day 2 Scout Blog

The Inaugural Florida Program Invitational continued at IMG Academy with action all day from the 14u, 15u, 16u, and 18u divisions. The tournament will last four days with a winner in each division determined on Sunday. After all four divisions have been decided, there will be an overall program winner as well. Today, we will take a look at our Scout Notes from Day 2 at the Florida Program Invitational. See who stood out to our PBR Florida Scouts.

Caleb Allinder C / 3B / Bartram Trail, FL / 2024

Allinder swung it well Friday. Projectable 6-foot, 180 pound frame. Went 3 for 3 with three RBI. Multiple extra base hits including a triple and a double. 

 


Alexander Berinato RHP / 1B / Palm Harbor University, FL / 2022

Uncommitted 2022 arm threw a complete game yesterday for the Roos. 6-foot, 170 pounds. Up tempo, athletic delivery. Clean loose arm action with the FB up to 86 today. Working a 3 pitch mix for strikes. 7 innings, 1 run, 5 strikeouts.

FB: 84-85 T86
CB: 67-70
CH: 72-74

Evan Chrest RHP / Wharton, FL / 2022

Chrest was around the zone Friday with a 4 pitch mix. Spin rate on SL up to 2982 rpm. FB flashing run. Slight split action on CH. 

FB: 87-89
SL: 75-77 (2846-2982)
CB: 71-72
CH: 80-81

 


Garrett Corbett SS / OF / Bishop Kenny, FL / 2023

Impressive outing from Corbett, tallying 5 K’s over 2 IP. Works up tempo attacking strike zone with FB/SLV. Getting swings and misses with both. 

FB: 87-90 (2400)
SLV: 74-76 (2560)

 


Connor Fosnow 3B / 2B / Lake Brantley, FL / 2022

Physical uncommitted 2022. Shows gap to gap power with the ability to stay short and compact when needed. Natural lift on contact with power to the pull side.

 


Joshua Hogue SS / 3B / Palm Beach Gardens , FL / 2022

Hogue is an uncommitted 2022 to follow. Simple and balanced from the left side. Line drive swing with natural lift on contact as the ball jumps off the bat. Was on the barrel all day long scorching multiple hard line drives up the middle and into the gaps. 

 


Anthony Karoly OF / RHP / Villages Charter, FL / 2022

5-foot-11, 165 lbs. Karoly works up tempo with a fairly quick arm/consistent release point. Late riding action on FB w/ run. CB commanded early w/ 12/6 shape.

CB: 71-72 



Colin Keirns LHP / OF / Bishop McLaughlin, FL / 2025

Keirns is definitely a 2025 to follow. Advanced frame at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Balanced athletic swing from the left side. Had a big day Friday producing two long doubles showing the power potential he has. 

 


Jesse Murrell RHP / OF / Bartram Trail, FL / 2024

Very intriguing arm here out of the 2024 class. Pounds the zone to both sides with a hard cutting FB and a swing and miss CB. Shows consistent mechanics with strength throughout. Fastball up to 85 mph with more to come as he adds strength. 


Arjun Nimmala SS / RHP / Strawberry Crest, FL / 2023

Florida State commit continues to barrel up baseballs with a mature approach in the batters box. Present hit tool with the ability to launch. Picking up 2B’s to LF.  


Ashton Pocol RHP / OF / Bartram Trail , FL / 2022

6-foot-1 210 lbs. Pocol filled up the zone and got outs just like he did in the regular season at Bartram Trail. Today worked a no-hitter into the 5th inning.

CB: 74-78

 


Peyton Prescott SS / RHP / Sebastian River, FL / 2023

Standout at the 2020 Rising Stars State Games for Team East. Prescott competes in the zone with a 3 pitch mix with the ability to locate the FB low in the zone.

SPL: 77-79

 


Zane Starling SS / RHP / Santa Fe, FL / 2023

Starling got the start for Gatorball and looks to have made a nice jump since the fall. Up to 87 with the fastball and continues to showcase above average spin on the breaking ball. Offensively, went 2 for 3 with two doubles and 2 RBI.


 

 


Elier Velazquez RHP / 2B / Alonso, FL / 2025

Velazquez had himself a day both on the mound and offensively for the Ostingers. Started in their first game going five shutout innings allowing just three hits with four strikeouts in a 2-0 win. In their second game, Velazquez would come up with a walk off base hit to give the Ostingers a 11-10 win. 

 


Tyler Whitfield OF / RHP / Tampa Catholic, FL / 2021

Adrian College commit. Whitfield showed his quick feet and range in the outfield making every play that came to him in center. Showed the ability to cut off both gaps as well as get back on balls over head.


 

 


Ashton Wilson SS / 3B / TNXL Academy, FL / 2022

Charleston Southern commit. 2020 Future Gamer stays short with his swing with the ability to use both sides of the field. Drove a double the other way early and followed it up with a second hit later on. Above average hit tool.
