This past week at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, some of the top 2018/2019 players were on display as Scorpions 2019 Prime, Florida Burn 2019 Platinum, and Chain 16u were present for the Florida Scout Ball 2016 Louisville Slugger Classic. RHP Dylan Simmons (Trinity Christian Academy, FL) and OF/LHP Jud Fabian (Trinity Catholic HS, FL) stood out for the Scorpions 2019 Prime while LHP Nolan Hudi (East Lakes HS, FL) threw five shutout innings for the Florida Burn 2019 Platinum and C Luca Tresh (Clearwater Central Catholic HS, FL) impressed from behind the plate for Chain 16u.

Below we have full scouting reports on the aforementioned players and for the remaining scouting reports from the weekend check out our SUMMER SCOUT BLOG.

Jud Fabian, OF/LHP, Trinity Catholic HS, FL (2019)
Currently ranked No. 12 in the Florida 2019 class, No. 31 overall, the 6-foot, 175-pounder has a projectable, athletic build with good instincts and natural actions. Calm and balanced in the box with loose hands and good hand eye. Quick bat with a confident approach at the plate. Good step for his load with timing and rhythm in his swing. Squares the ball up consistently and uses all of the field. Can drive the ball with authority. Smart player that stays aggressive on the base paths. Tracks the ball well in the outfield and makes accurate throws with carry. High follow as he continues to strengthen and mature.

Nolan Hudi, LHP, East Lake HS, FL (2019)
Currently ranked No. 31 in the Florida 2019 Class, the 5-foot-11, 155-pounder has a lean, projectable, athletic build with a live body. Gathers himself and repeats well. Calm demeanor on the mound. Works quickly. Throws the ball out of the high ¾ arm slot with a big leg kick in his delivery. Falls off the side on his landing, can use his lower half more on his follow through. Fastball mostly sat 83-85 mph with some sinking action and arm side run while also mixing in a 70-71 mph curveball that had a ¾ break as well as a 74-75 mph change up. Mixed it up well by striking out seven in five innings while only giving up two hits. Quick pick-off move. Projectable young arm and a high follow this summer.

Dylan Simmons, RHP, Trinity Christian Academy (2019)
Florida State recruit. Currently ranked No. 10 in the Florida 2019 class, No. 24 overall. Strong, athletic, projectable build on a 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. Loose arm delivering the ball out of the high ¾ arm slot with a simple and repeatable delivery. Gets good extension out in front on his delivery, occasionally can fall off to the side causing his pitches to tail out of the zone. More consistency on his follow through will allow for even better command of the zone. Fastball had some downward tilt and sat 87-89 mph, touching 91 compared to 83-86 in late April. Pitched with confidence and attacked hitters. Curveball sat 71-73 mph with some depth and shape.

Luca Tresh, C, Clearwater Central Catholic HS, FL (2018)
North Carolina State recruit. Stands at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds with a strong, athletic, projectable build. Caught a strong game from behind the plate by receiving well, showing good flexibility, and displaying a strong and accurate arm on his throws down to 2B. Blocks the ball, shows good baseball IQ. Had a wide stance and bends his knees inward at the plate. Displayed a quick bat with good hip rotation and makes solid contact. Runs the bases well.
