Panhandle Summer Kickoff Games: Pitcher-Only Analysis

The 2019 Panhandle Summer Kick-Off Games took place on Saturday May 18th at the 2019 State-Runner up, Northwest Florida State College. Players from the graduating classes of 2019-2023 took place in a pro-style workout followed by a game. Over the next week, we will take a look at a breakdown of every player in attendance broken down by Outfield, Corner Infield, Middle Infield, Catcher, Pitcher-Only and Multi-Position prospects. Today, we take a look at the pitcher-onlys  in attendance.

Luke Boykin RHP / Niceville, FL / 2020

6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, athletically built. On the mound, low, long arm swing on draw, shows on back-side, high ¾ slot, some effort. Drop and drive delivery, hip lead to home, sits on back-side, works on-line, lands square to home, finishes crossing over towards first. Fastball played at 79-81, touched 82, showed some life, consistently in the zone with. Slider, 11/5 shape, tight spin, feel for, 67-70. Changeup, third pitch, flashed fade, 67-68.

Carter Dorsch LHP / 1B / Port St. Joe , FL / 2021

6-foot, 156-pound, lean, lanky left-handed pitcher. Works out of a high ¾ slot, long arm action, reaches back low, regular effort. Tall and fall delivery, stretch-only, low leg kick, smooth rhythm, works on-line, lands toe-closed, spinning off towards third. Fastball flashed both run and sink at-times, effective to arm-side, 75-77. Curveball, 1/7 shape, some ate bite, kept around the zone, 64-66. Changeup, fade action, 68-70.

Carson Ramsey LHP / OF / Blountstown, FL / 2021

5-foot-10, 145-pound left-handed pitcher, lean, lanky frame. Arm works short from a ¾ slot with easy effort. Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, lands closed, finishes square to the plate. Fastball worked mostly straight, 64-66, touched 76. Curveball, 1/7 shape, gradual break, flashed feel for, 55-58. Changeup, fade action, 59-60.
