Vanderbilt recruit. 6-foot-1 200 pounds with an athletic, strong, and projectable body. Soft hands in the field with good footwork. Quick transfer and an above average arm across the diamond. Open at the plate and gets a good separation for his load. Squares it up. On the mound Swanson throws out of the high ¾ arm slot with his fastball sitting 87-89 mph along with good secondary stuff. Gathers himself and repeats well. Great athlete.
