Unsigned Junior Spotlight: RHP Alex Canney

Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season in limbo, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. Over the last two months, we have been spotlighting several uncommitted seniors to help them get the exposure they need to play at the next level in 2021. This month, we will move on to uncommitted 2021's who will be heading into their senior summer.
Next up is uncommitted 2021 RHP Alex Canney (Durant). Canney is a strong framed right-hander at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds. He stood out this fall at the Ostingers tryouts with his fastball jumping up to 88 mph. He ranks No. 229 in the PBR Florida Class of 2021 rankings.

Scouting Report
Uncommitted 2021. 6-foot-1 200 pound RHP. Strong and athletic frame. Comes from a ¾ arm slot. Drives downhill well. Fastball sat 84-86 mph, and topped out at 88 mph. Showed a sweeping curveball at 72-73 mph.
