Florida 2026 Rankings: Post-Spring Update
May 30, 2024
Summer season is officially here. Summer is a crazy time in the high school baseball world especially down here in Florida. For the 2026 class, this is perhaps the most important summer of their life. Come August 1st, they’ll be allowed to communicate with college coaches. This summer, college coaches will be making their short lists of players to contact on August 1, so it's up to the players to make their names known.
With that being said, today we update our Class of 2026 state player rankings. See who made the biggest jumps this winter/spring.

Top 5 Analysis
The top player in the 2026 class is SS Jacob Lombard (Gulliver Prep). With pro bloodlines and a projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame, Lombard has the makings of a top-tier shortstop at the next level.
At number two is LHP Gio Rojas (Stoneman Douglas, Miami). Rojas moved from Colorado to Florida and was dominant this spring. Fastball up to 94 paired with a wipeout 2900 rpm slider. The 6-foot-2, 175 southpaw has front-line starter potential at the next level.

OF Brady Harris (TCA, Florida) has some of the best tools in this 2026 class. Physical 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame and still getting stronger. Hit and power tools are above average with power potential and real bat speed. Harris is a standout center fielder and has true 5-tool potential at the next level.
It didn’t take long for ‘26 OF Brady Harris to make his presence felt in Fort Myers 👊

Coming in at number four is RHP Ethan Wheeler (TCA, Florida). Wheeler is a smart and advanced right-hander at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds. Fastball up to 93 with feel for four pitches. Secondary stuff is above average and the pitchability continues to jump. Wheeler has front-line starter potential.

Rounding out the top five is 3B/RHP Coleman Borthwick (South Walton, Auburn). Borthwick is 6-foot-6, 240 pounds and physically imposing. He has leaned out and added strength over the last year. Borthwick is an above-average defender for his size at third base and shouldn’t need to move to first. At the plate he has some of the best power potential in the entire class. On the mound, has been up to 94. Lots of two-way potential.
