The 2024 High School season is underway. Each week, high school coaches around the state will be nominating players for Pitcher and Hitter of the Week. We will choose the top four nominees for Pitcher and Hitter and let the public vote on a Twitter poll. Players who were nominated but not chosen for Pitcher or Hitter of the Week will be highlighted in a Diamond Notes article on Tuesday.

Pitcher of the Week: Week 1

Grayson Gibson LHP / 1B / Calvary Christian , FL / 2025 Gibson made two appearances for Calvary in week one. He struck out the side in one inning of relief against Indian Rocks Christian. He then started against Tampa Catholic, going six shutout innings allowing just two hits and no walks with nine strikeouts. He entered the sixth inning with a perfect game in tack. Kyle Koslin C / OF / J.W. Mitchell, FL / 2026 Koslin had a big week one for Mitchell in their two wins. He collected four hits including three home runs and seven RBI. Week 1 Stats: 4-6, 3 HR, 1B, 7 RBI, SB
