With the conclusion of the Prep Baseball 15u National Championship at Lakepoint Sports. We have seen quick hit style notes from each day with video of the prospect. Now lets take a deeper look at some prospects that our scouts saw with full breakdowns of the players they saw. 

Myles Thomas, SS/OF/RHP, Westlake HS (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Strong day at the plate with an impressive swing for the upcoming sophomore. Went 2-for-2 on the day (7/4) with a single and nearly had a bomb that fell just shy of the left-field wall. Tons of tools on display at the plate with an aggressive approach matched with a vicious cut that invited the inside FB. Potential pull-side power hitter with speed on aggressiveness on the base paths. Loose, twitchy hands that get the barrel around quickly.

Cross Dennard, RHP/3B, Denmark HS (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Incredible performance on the mound to start the 14u National Championship week. Strong 7 innings of work with a near no-hitter until the top of the sixth, rendering the only hit of the game while also racking up 8 strikeouts. FB ran up to 83 and sat around the 80 mark consistently with arm-side run. CV in the low 70’s had a good horizontal break that generated weak contact, worked well inside to have guys jammed and off-balanced. Mixed pitches well, and set up hitters for his off-speed with an inside FB that collected weak ground-ball outs. Simple mechanics, over the top to a three-quarter arm slot with run and rise on his FB.

Graham Reker, C/SS, Woodward Academy (GA), 2028
Uncommitted. Physical, athletic, versatile 5-foot-8, 135-pound frame with quickness in-and-throughout his swing. Solid days at the dish going 2-for-3 on (7/4) and (7/5) with good barrels to the left-side and up the middle. High leg-kick load that generates power in his lower-half matches well with a vicious upper-body cut. Hands held around the chest that move backwards to initiate his swing. Gained good forward momentum to make hard contact, greeted the inside FB with smooth, easy barrels.

Zeke Dotson, RHP/C, Dawsonville County High School (GA), 2029
Uncommitted. Big, physical, athletic 6’3” 168 frame with two-way potential. Solid day on the mound and at the plate with great arm strength and quickness in his swing and power off the bat. Confident at the plate with a strong lower body though his swing with solid command with the FB topping around the low 80s. Great swing to smash one past the shortstop for a single 95 EV.

Brooks Robinson, RHP, Greene County Tech (AR), 2028
Robinson made his presence known early in the first slot of the tournament with some high level velocity. Sat in the low to mid 80’s with the fastball and worked it up to 87 mph a couple of times. While the velocity was impressive, the life and natural sink is what really made this pitch special. The fastball also worked well off of his slider, which sat in the mid 70’s with phenomenal depth and bite, perfectly tunneling off his fastball. Robinson should continue to gain velocity through the years, and his natural pitch ability with his smooth, effortless arm motion should make him a dominant arm for the foreseeable future.

Malachi Owens, C/SS, Maynard High School (GA), 2029
Owens was a standout for East Cobb on Thursday. He showed some real prowess with the bat in one of his at bats, hitting a loud standup triple to the LCF gap. Also, he showed some exciting athleticism on the bases and in the field as well, covering a lot of ground and flashing his range. Owens already has the raw tools to make him an exciting young ball player, and I am excited to see how he progresses as he grows in size and strength.

Wyatt Garfinkle, RHP/3B, The Westminster Schools (GA), 2028
Uncommitted. Effective outing on Friday morning with a decent selection of pitches. Good command of all three pitches on display. FB ran up into the upper 70’s with arm-side run. Has a three-quarter to over the top arm slot. Worked in the SL in the upper 60’s and had a CH mixed in well in the low 70’s. The SL had hitters off-balanced with a mid-to-late break that had drop-off away from RHH. Shoved five quality innings of four hit ball while collecting 4 strikeouts. Two-sport athlete, a QB in football; going to be a good name to know for the upcoming years.

Keelan Zumwalt, 1B/LHP, Summit Christian HS (MO), 2028
Uncommitted. Impressive first glance on Friday morning as the bar was set high after a rocket drilled up the middle into center field for his first at-bat of the game. Strong presence in the 4-spot with power and potential for more as the 6-foot-2, 175-pounder keeps developing. Finished the game going 1-for-2 with a BB, RBI, and scored twice. Mature approaches at the plate, worked himself into deep counts with two strikes and made good adjustments. Shoulder width stance. Utilizes the leg-kick load to create power and healthy momentum towards the ball that generates hard contact. Stays tall, but still uses his lower-half. Confident bat to have in the line-up.

Gavin Griffith, C, Austin Preparatory School (MA), 2028
Griffith had an exciting day on Friday with 2 loud barrels in his first 2 at bats, one of them being a double well over the left fielders head. The raw bat speed and hand speed is off the charts, which naturally makes Griffith a power threat in all of his at bats. He also possesses a solid hit tool and feel for the barrel, and has some defensive prowess behind the plate. Definitely excited to see how adding strength on to the already present bat speed will look in a few years for Griffith.

Jaedon Torres, SS/RHP, Licking Heights (OH), 2028
Uncommitted. Great first look on the mound for Torres on Saturday. Great command of both the FB and BB. Showed a good display with the FB getting up to the low 80s. BB was in the low 70s with good control on the ball. Great confidence on the mound in 6 innings with only allowing 1 hit.

Jackson Silvers, RHP/SS,John M Morehead High (NC), 2028
Uncommitted. Athletic frame at 6’0’’ 175 with great arm strength. Had a good day on the mound on Saturday with good command of mixing in two pitches. Attacked the zone very well with great confidence topping around the mid 80s with the FB. Smooth delivery on the mound with great break in his offspeed pitches.

Preston Bottoms, 2B/SS, Kell (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Smooth swing from the right side that generates a ton of bat speed and catches the ball out in front. Consistently likes to attack early in the count, prepared for the fastball but can make quick adjustments to breaking balls. In pool play on Sunday Bottoms hit a missile into the LCF gap for a standup double that left the bat at 93 exit velocity. Continuously had loud contact all weekend and is a major threat at the top of the lineup.

Kelby Barnett, 3B, Baylor School (TN), 2028
Uncommitted. Another big strong frame with plenty of more room to add on at 5’11 185. Smooth swing that generates a ton of bat speed and has plenty of power to take the ball to all parts of the field. Does a great job keeping the barrel through the zone for a long time and consistently has quality at-bats. An interesting name to look out for as he continues to develop in the class of 2028.

Ben Greene, 3B/RHP, Sevier County (TN), 2028
Uncommitted. Greene has a strong projectable frame at 6’2 185 with immense power to all parts of the field. Short compact swing straight to the ball with quiet movements in the box. On Tuesday during bracket play, Greene matched plane with a high fastball and sent a shot that one hopped the center field fence. Left the bat at 95 exit velocity. He will continue to add strength and generate more and more power as he continues to develop and get older.

Emmric Alapa, 1B/LHP, Saint Louis School (HI), 2029
Uncommitted. Very smooth beautiful lefty swing that generates a ton of pop. Consistently likes to pull the fastball and take breaking balls backside. Clean toe tap load with a strong lower half that creates a lot of power from that left side. On Tuesday during bracket play, Alapa caught a breaking ball out in front and sent a shot that burned the right fielder for a clean standup double. Left the bat at 95 exit velocity. Alapa plays with a lot of confidence and loves to come through for his team when they need him most. At still such a young age Alapa will continue to get better and sharpen his tools as he keeps developing and getting stronger.

Reese Young, SS/RHP, Anderson County HS (TN), 2028
Uncommitted. What a Monday it was for Young. Collecting three hits batting in the three-hole for a Top Tier Southeast Knoxville 13u squad. Picking up two pull-side knocks in his first two at-bats collecting two RBIs. In his third at bat Young stepped up to the plate and stung one into the left-center field gap at an exit velocity of 95 MPH, then showed off the wheels motoring around for a triple. Young was all over the barrel Monday afternoon, showing the ability to match plane with tremendous pull-side leverage to match. The projection is substantial for the athletic 6-foot-1, 160-pound incoming freshman.

Bryce Glass, SS/3B, Elite Scholars Academy School HS (GA), 2028
Uncommitted. As pesky as they come at the plate. Batting atop the order, the lead-off hitter showcased the mature approach at the plate, constantly working deep counts producing quality at-bats highlighting a keen eye in the box. Using this advanced approach the incoming freshman collected three knocks on Monday night. To go along with this advanced approach Glass shows impressive bat-to-ball skills. Game-wrecker on the base-paths that caused havoc all game long, as well.

Jeremiah Mcgeachy, SS/OF, Stockbridge HS (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Balls jump off the bat of Mcgeachy as he showed out on both sides of the ball Monday night. Collecting two loud base-hits. A pull-side double at an exit velocity of 86 MPH and a backside single at an exit-velocity of 88 MPH. Showing the ability to match plane, highlighting a well-synced up swing generated with leverage to all-fields. The strength stands out for the athletic 5-foot-10, 173-pound SS. Not only did Mcgeachy get it done offensively but showed off the athleticism late in the game picking up a web-gem at shortstop.

Jaxston Brown, OF, North Springs HS (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. The smooth-swinging lefty was a standout at the plate on Monday night, collecting two hits as the hit-tool shined. Displaying loose twitchy actions in the box coupled with a well-connected swing and all-fields leverage with natural bat-to-ball to match. Uber-athletic field general in centerfield. Brown will be a name to watch at North Springs in the spring as the tools jump off the page.

Kaisen Montero, 1B, Hawaii, 2028
Standing at a 5’10” 240 lb frame, Montero is the definition of a physical presence at the plate for his age. The lefty swinging first baseman looked to be more than comfortable in all of his at bats Monday afternoon as he never chased outside of his zone. When he did swing, he made sure to get his A swing off every time. Hitting against a firm front side, Montero hit a double in Monday’s game over the right fielders head at 94.6 MPH, taking one of the more impressive swings of the week. If he can continue to build on his already impressive feel at the plate and barrel control, then Montero will be a nightmare for pitchers for years to come.

Kamakai Angell, OF, Hawaii, 2028
Angell is a completely different type of player than his teammate, Montero. A gap to gap approach with great bat to ball skills from the left side, making Angell a true threat for a base hit every time he steps up to the plate. Using a simple, no stride approach, he is able to maximize his chances for finding the barrel by having no wasted movements in his swing. Also, he showed some solid range and athletic movements in the outfield. Angell is a true gamer, exciting follow. 

Colin Raymond, C/OF, The Stony Brook School HS (NY), 2028
Uncommitted. Raymond was all over the barrel over the course of the 14u National Championship. Obliterating baseballs with ease the left-handed slugger posted consistent 90 MPH exit velocities. Showed an advanced approach at the plate with premium bat-speed and above average raw-power to match. Creating pull-side leverage with the athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. The power upside is massive as Raymond is a must-know name in the 2028 class.

Drew Jackson III, LHP/OF, American Christian Academy (AL), 2028
Uncommitted. Jackson III stands at a physical and athletic 5’9” 163lb frame. He really impressed throughout the tournament, showing advanced athleticism and good feel for the barrel. At the plate, he uses a controlled toe tap load with strong hands that he uses to create frequent leverage to the pull-side. Showed really advanced raw power for the class, posting exit velocities as high as 97mph. Also an impressive 2 sport star, as he excels on the football field as well as the diamond. Highest level athlete with immense potential.

Gael Zambrano, 3B/RHP, La Joya HS (TX), 2028
Uncommitted. Strong and sturdy 5’9” 150lb frame. Showed some really impressive two-way ability throughout the event. On the mound, he showed advanced command and feel for the strike zone. He worked the fastball mostly 80-83, running it up to an 86 once with a handful of 85s. Threw the breaking ball at 66-69 and flashed a tumbling changeup that he threw at 65-66. At the plate, he showed off the strength, posting exit velocities north of 90mph. He swings from a strong lower half base with good feel to adjust the barrel and match plane. Good follow.

Hunter Elmore, 1B/3B, American Christian Academy (AL), 2028
Uncommitted. Elmore stands at a large, physical 6’0” 225lb frame. At the plate, Elmore really impressed throughout the event. The physical tools are prominent, and the bat speed stood out throughout his at-bats. He utilizes a fairly compact load, with a slight barrel tip at the top that he rotates through on plane consistently. There’s some obvious big-time power projection present here, and he showed a pretty advanced hit tool to match. He’ll be a good follow in the 2028 class. 

Gavin Greene, C/RHP/3B, Mt. Pisgah HS (GA), 2028
Uncommitted. Strong, athletic, and powerful hacks in the semi-final games of the 14u National Championship games. Loose hands, held chest high pairs well with a short leg-kick load that generates healthy momentum towards the ball to make hard, consistent contact. Showcased excellent ability to spray the ball to all fields with maturity in his approaches, matched with an aggressive intent towards every pitch. A physical 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame with more strength and power on the way. Quick movements behind the dish as well, showing good arm strength and ability to block it up efficiently. High follow for the upcoming freshman.

Hayden Schell, RHP/1B, Hazel Green HS (AL), 2027
Uncommitted. Eye opening start on the bump for the championship game on Wednesday (7/10), with a plethora of pitches that paired well. Works over the top to a three-quarter arm slot. Ran the FB up the 86 and consistently sat around 84 throughout his four innings of work. SL in the mid to low 70’s running the spin rate to 2579 rpm with wicked sweeping movement and late drop-off. CV mixed in sporadically in the upper 70’s with 2366 rpm and good 12/6 break that held shape. Legit SL and CV combination that had hitters off-balanced and out-front for weak contact. Tall, advanced 6-foot-2, 233-pound frame.

Jake West, LHP/1B, Brentwood HS (TN), 2028
Uncommitted. What a performance West put together on Wednesday at the plate. In the semi-final of the 14u National Championship, the LHH went 3-3 collecting 5 RBI’s. Stepping up to the plate in his second at-bat West delivered and launched one over the right-field wall at 355Ft. and an exit velocity of 93 MPH, breaking the game open. Showing an advanced feel for the barrel at the plate with above average raw power to match. The power upside is massive for the 6-foot-4, 220-pound incoming freshman.

Koltyn Watters, OF, Uncommited 2028 (MI)
Impressive showing from Watters last weekend, going 3/3 on Saturday with a single, double and triple for a 4 RBI day. All were extremely hard hit with low 90s exit velocities. Shows great hand eye coordination with advanced ability to spray the ball to all parts of the field. Barell stays in the zone a long time and has extremely quick hands. Solid runner in the outfield and on the base paths.

Jackson Bredeson (GA) OF, Uncommited 2028
Bredeson had a great showing this week, having a few multiple hit games. Showcased his ability to stay back on off speed pitched by keeping his hands back and snapping them off at the right time to shoot balls to the gaps. Middle approach with ability to go pull side for power or take what’s given to him and have base hits the other way. Twitchy athlete who rotates through the ball well. More pop to come as he fills out his lanky 6’2 160 LB frame.

Luke Crowder, LHP, Benet HS(IL), 2028
Uncommitted. Good first look in his start on Friday and another good look in his relief outing on Tuesday. On Friday he showcased mainly a two pitch mix and threw on change-up with solid command for both his fastball and his curveball. On Friday his fastball topped out at 85 and lived primarily in the 82-84 range and his curveball was 73-74 and on Tuesday sat primarily in the same range, but his fastball topped out at 86. Generated a lot of weak contact and swing and misses. Has a very smooth delivery on the mound with a confidence on the mound when he pitches. Stat line from Friday: 4IP/2H/0ER/5k’s.

Fitz Stone, OF/RHP, CALVARY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL (GA), 2028
Stone showed quality stuff at the plate this weekend for Team Elite 14u Prime Black. Stone showed off a lightning quick bat with a strong lower half the produced easy power out of the frame. Stone also played a good defense this weekend playing both in the infield and outfield and doing so well. The fast twitch movements are already there with a gamer mindset. For sure going to be a name to watch as the years progress.

Santiago Fuenmayor, C/1B, Duluth High School (GA), 2028
Pure power from Fuenmayor displayed this weekend on all levels and all parts of the field. In both looks we got at Fuenmayor he flat out showed his advanced ability matched with already huge size and raw strength. With the size already there, + im sure there will be more growth from the frame the sky is truly the limit. Fuenmayor has a shorter swing, but he really coils in his lower half well and explodes through the ball producing exit velos upwards of 92+.

Jay Baird, RHP/OF, Hinsdale Central HS (IL), 2028
Projectable is the biggest thing I have to say about Baird. 6 foot 2 150 pound frame has plenty to add on and I could see this name becoming a huge riser in the 2028 class. Already has present power and good feel for the long levers leveraging them well through the zone creating easy pop giving the ability for the long ball. Could also be a name on the mound in the future working his FB into the upper 70s there is plenty of strength to add on that will only make these numbers go up.

Noah Andrew Castillo, RHP/OF, James Campbell HS (HI), 2028
The number 4 overall and number 1 RHP in the state of Hawaii came out and showed electric stuff at the 14U National Championship. Straight out of the pen and dominated with the FB living 84-86 from a lower ¾ slot that stayed at the knees out of release. Castillo worked his FB in and out and was a pure nightmare for RHH jamming them majority of the time. Castillo also worked in a quality CB in the 69-72 range spinning it well at 2450+ and dropping it in at any count stunning hitters. A big name to know coming out of Hawaii.
