2023 Most Viewed Profile: #12 Ty Peeples

Logan Nelson
PBR Georgia Staff

As we begin to close the book on 2023 and shift our focus to a brand-new year, we continue our tradition of highlighting the Top-25 Most Viewed Profiles for the calendar year. Using Google Analytics, our staff was able to compile a list of the Top-25 prospects whose PBR profile was viewed the most in 2023. Many of the players mentioned on this list produced at a high level at various PBR events over the course of the last 12 months.

Today we announce #12 and will go all the way to No. 1, which will be announced on December 31st. Coming in at #12 is PBR All-American Game standout, #1 player in our class of '25, and Georgia commit, Ty Peeples.

Scouting Report

4/25/23

UGA Commit. 6-foot-2, 170 pounds. In my 10+ years of heavily scouting the Peach State, there aren’t ten “Hit for Avg” tools I’ve felt this strongly about. This is not an exaggeration, every time I film Peeples 1st AB he gets a perfectly clean barrel. My first look at him in his sure to be legendary HS career was at LakePoint, where he hit a mammoth bomb to right center in one of his first games at about 150 lbs. Not only did he launch a tater, but showed elite instincts on defense, robbing a HR at the wall in CF like a pro. It’s safe to say that wasn’t the first robbery he made with the leather, as it's easy to see he’s been a prodigy ever since he stepped on a baseball field. He’s the literal definition of a swiss army knife at the plate. Ty is able to adjust on the fly to any delivery, arm slot, pitch type, or location. His timing mechanisms and forward move are absolutely dynamic, as he can go from no stride to leg kick, and everything in between. Feel to hit is just something you can’t teach, and Peeples is quite simply a natural. He makes correct swing decisions at an incredible rate, and I’ve still yet to see him off balance. This future draft pick is able to manipulate his body/swing path to barrel pitches in the toughest locations, and his elite vision allows him to pick up pitch types early. His big time baseball IQ enables him to pick up the slightest tendencies in a pitcher, and he’s one of the toughest players to K in the state. As 2022 brought him some serious recognition from PBR scouting staff and made him a national name (No. 57th player nationally for us), 2023 and beyond are sure to be no different!

5/04/22

Uncommitted. The 6 foot 1, 160 prodigy has a medium frame and high waist with long, lean levers. Already one of the most advanced hitters in his class, I truly believe Ty’s bat could hold its own at the D1 level right now. He had two barrels in game 1 off the No. 40 ranked pitcher in our 2023 Rankings, who sat 89-90 mph. First AB he got his foot down early to gain his timing and hit a laser to left, 2nd AB he changed to a perfectly timed leg kick and went pull side double. In Game 2 he went to the toe tap just off feel, and hits another pull side gapper. The aptitude Peeples shows is generational, and through these adjustments the most important parts don’t change - minimal head movement, hip/shoulder separation, linear connection, and swing path. Should be one of the hottest 2025’s this summer.
