The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

• With a young team in 2023, the Blue Devils had a strong 27-9 record and a trip to the class 6A Elite 8. In 2024, Coach Williams and the Blue Devils have depth and more experience looking to make another deep run in the playoffs. The 2024 team will be upperclass heavy being led by Seniors Tyler Holmes, John Dorman, Luke Ellerbee, Brady Moretz, and Cameron Smith. Junior John Davis who was a standout for Team Georgia at the 2023 Future Games will be a key bat at the top of the lineup. Mac Brooks and Landon Parrish will both look to contribute offensivley for the Blue Devils. Young Sophomore, Tyler VanSumeren (Kennesaw State Commit) will hold down 1B and be a consistent bat. Senior Catcher Cameron Smith will help lead the pitching staff. The Tift County Blue Devils will open up the 2024 campaign against Camden County on 2/13.
