2025 Georgia Preview: Wesleyan Wolves

The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Wolves will return nearly every key player in 2024. They are going to be an athletic group led by Kennesaw State commit Grayson McCollum. He will lead the way on the mound and be their everyday short stop when not on the mound. He has the ability to beat anyone in the state on the mound. Their infield is going to be about as good as it gets with juniors Knox Bingham and Carter Hayes. Both Bingham and Hayes are about as steady as they come at the plate and have both added size and strength to help the power. Rounding out their infield will be Brice Gillis and Matthew Wright who will split time over at 1B. Both are big time football players with Wright committed to play at Army. Both will provide a power threat in the line up. Junior Coleman Eldridge will be in CF as one of the speedier guys in the class. He will be a threat on bases as well in the line up. Another junior that will be a big contributor is Ryley Webb. Webb is one of those players that can do it all, so he will be able to help the team in many different ways. Outside of this heavy upper class group, sophomore Maddox McCollum is going to have a chance to make a real impact in 2025, especially on the mound. The Wolves will need some arms to step up on the mound, but will have the line up to compete for another playoff run in 2025.
