GHSA Playoffs - Buford vs Glynn Academy

Game 2 was dominated by none other than the 6 foot 5, 225 pound mountain, RHP/OF Riley Stanford. The No. 8 player in our 2022 Class Rankings turned in a performance that should certainly warrant consideration for a move up. He went 5 INN, 3 H, 1 BB, and 9 K’s in 87 pitches. The most impressive thing about Riley was his ability to repeat a balanced delivery with such a large yet young frame. His 4 seam FB sat 92-94 T96 with bore up in the zone, and steep plane down. The effortless arm speed on this pitch creates a different sound, a much louder and shorter buzz. He also featured an impressive 91-92 2 seam FB with run and sink that he ran away from lefty bats. Stanford’s SL has improved leaps and bounds since his senior circuit started. It came in at 83-84 T85 and flashed wipeout downward tilt. When the tilt wasn’t there, it has sharp and late lateral break.
