CARTERSVILLE, GA - With what seemed like the entire town watching, the Cartersville Canes played inspiring baseball and are headed back to their first State Championship since 2018! The combination of good coaching, chemistry, and versatile roster of hungry players vaulted them to the promised land.
In Game 1, they hit the Apalachee Wildcats with a trifecta of projectable RHP. ‘24 Ryan Johnson, ‘23 Geoffrey Gore, and high leverage reliever ‘23 Philip Schiltz. The group, including heavy hitting 2024 3B Caleb Daniels, showed why we can pencil in the Canes as contenders for the next few years. They won 3-2 in 8 innings on a wild pitch.
After the clutch extra inning win, the Canes came out charged up and confident with the wizard of curveballs on the hill, 2023 RHP Caden Carroll. He came through clutch going 5 ⅔ INN, 3 ER, with 5 K’s on 100 pitches. Up 6-4 with a man on 2nd in the top of the 7th INN, Berry commit (dual sport) ‘22 OF Jacob Ray rocked the stadium with a 2 RBI pull side launch...
